True, but if the great Ronaldo could be labelled Penaldo how much more Osimhen. Truth is, the last couple of goals have only been coming from penalties. Would be great if they come from open play too.
That nickname is used by Messi/Barcelona fans. U will never hear Penado come out of a Portuguese mouth.

Sure. First cleansheet since 1993 grin
One minute they are unplayable and the next minute they fall asleep and allow a goal. They are consistently inconsistent grin

In all fairness Boniface has been given ample playing time facing the likes of Lesotho, Sao Tome, Rwanda, Zimbabwe and he's still yet to find the back of the net so Egbon Kog45 is within his rights to criticize him.

Dessers for all his limitations hasn't enjoying an extended run in the SE yet has goals to his name against solid opposition like Mexico and Ghana. Yes he missed a chance against Mali which forward doesn't? At least he was even in a position to score something I've not seen enough of from Boniface. Yes Victor is obviously more talented but if you can't bring it when it matters most what's the point?
You spoke very well Boniface is a more talented player than Dessers and but that's not enough reason to be making excuses for him. As at here and now Dessers has more impact in SE than Boniface.

Do u think screening of players takes long time..if u are a good coach and u knw what u want..within 10mins of play ,u can make ur decision .let me cite an example

I was fortunate to be on a local pitch where screening exercise was going on.the white man and his crew looking for players were observing as usual .during d match , a guy (I knw very well in d hood) was substituted in to replace another player. He spent just 10mins on d pitch ,he created a beautiful assist with a long lobbing ball from d midfield to the striker and d striker scored.d guy was substituted immediately and told to sit out. Dt assist alone impressed everyone watching including the white man. He and other 3 players were picked 4 anoda trial in europe(France) .

Some people are seriously calling for Boniface to be dropped after just a few matches? Dude has not even had a poor match, but has just been unlucky with goals, yet all these noise? Make una dey calm down.

By the way, I would love to see what Arokodare could bring, because he seems aggressive.
I don't think any lover of SE will be calling for Boniface to be dropped entirely from the team. But we are only pointing out the double standard of condemning some SE players over few games and making excuses for Boniface with a worse stat

That's one thing with them, inconsistency. If Galatasaray defenders are determined to not concede, they will not concede, you go just dey see acrobatic clearances everywhere, but the day dem choose to mumu, they can throw away a 6 goal lead 😂

More than 4000 talented players from all over the country thronged the pitch of the FIFA Goal Project in Abuja, Nigeria’s political capital, looking for a chance to make it into the team.

Amuneke found a way to see many of them play. He would group the boys into teams with a 30-minute time limit.

https://soccernet.ng/2023/02/the-15-minutes-that-handed-victor-osimhen-a-life-changing-opportunity.html

Are you saying the over 4000 players were recommended?

I repeat, if we don't go back to open screening for U17, and even improve on it and make it even more thorough, with more time and even more zones. Until then, people should not worry themselves with our U17 programs.

Finito.
4000 players for what?....

What do you think open screening is about? How do you get a pool of quality players? By recommendation? Under Maigari, the open screening did wonders and we won the tournament back to back, providing real decent players.

As I said, if we are not going back to the open screening ways and continue recommending, then people should not waste their time worrying themselves.

You went to school, took first and collected award. It is so simple. There was a screening camp at the Yakubu Gowon stadium in Port Harcourt. A young friend of mine participated and said the turn out was 6000. They were all screened. He sha, did not make it.

In his last two matches he was poor. I supported him initially but truth be told he's had a number of games for an attacker to stamp his presence. I'm not even judging him based on his lack of goals, he's been unremarkable.
