Keep Your Home Free From Insects, Reptiles And Dirt This New Year by DanielJones(op): 6:09pm On Jan 12, 2025
Why You Should Keep Your Home Free From Insects, Harmful Reptiles and Dirt This New Year

As we welcome the new year, many of us are reflecting on our goals and resolutions for a healthier, happier, and more prosperous year. One essential aspect to consider is the cleanliness and safety of our homes. Keeping our living spaces free from insects, harmful reptiles, and dirt is crucial for maintaining a healthy environment and preventing potential hazards.

The Risks of Neglecting Home Cleaning and Fumigation

Insects, such as cockroaches, mosquitoes, and bed bugs, can spread diseases, trigger allergies, and cause discomfort. Harmful reptiles, like snakes and scorpions, can pose a significant threat to our safety and well-being. Dirt and dust can exacerbate respiratory issues, like asthma, and create an ideal breeding ground for pests.

The Benefits of Regular Cleaning and Fumigation

Regular cleaning and fumigation can provide numerous benefits, including:

1. Improved Health: A clean and pest-free home reduces the risk of diseases and allergies.
2. Increased Safety: Eliminating harmful reptiles and insects minimizes the risk of accidents and injuries.
3. Enhanced Comfort: A clean and well-maintained home creates a comfortable and relaxing living environment.
4. Protection of Property: Regular cleaning and fumigation help prevent damage to our homes and belongings.

You guys are really doing good job. I recently hired Afterlife Cleaning Services to fumigate my home, and I'm thoroughly impressed with their exceptional service!

From the initial consultation to the actual fumigation process, the team was professional, courteous, and efficient. They arrived on time, explained the process clearly, and ensured that all areas of my home were thoroughly treated.

The fumigation itself was highly effective, eliminating all signs of pests and leaving my home smelling fresh and clean. I've noticed a significant reduction in pest-related issues since the treatment.

The team was responsive to my queries, and their follow-up to ensure I was satisfied with the service was greatly appreciated.

I highly recommend Afterlife Cleaning Services to anyone seeking reliable, effective, and customer-centric fumigation services. Kudos to Abel, Dorcas, and the entire team for a job well done!

My Rating: 5/5 stars

Well done. You guys fumigate our estate. You are really doing well. Your chemical is very strong. I will advise that you don't use strong chemical for homes and offices as you use for the estate. Maybe you can consider using odourless chemical.

I'm impressed with what I see and hear about your services. I have not used your service before but you fumigated a house close to mine and you really did a thorough job.

Great reviews. Where is your office located? Can your team come to fumigate my factory in Abuja? My experience with one company here was terrible. They came to fumigate my home and they killed one of my pets. I got them arrested and asked them to do a full refund before I could allow them to be released.

Great service. I don't have much to say again after my first review. Try them and thank me later.

Hi Sheblayze,Gerrard59, Pansophist

I hope you don’t mind me reaching out like this. I’ve been following your diary for a long time and truly appreciate your refreshing perspectives—they often resonate deeply with me.

I noticed we’re both based in the UK and left Nigeria around the same time. Recently, I’ve been reflecting critically on the rise in heinous crimes committed by Black individuals. It’s a topic that weighs heavily on me because, as we know, the actions of one Black person often impact the entire community. I’ve found myself increasingly apprehensive when I see Black people behaving rashly, as we already struggle with a negative reputation.

Living outside London, I’ve experienced and witnessed passive racism firsthand. For example, I’ve seen women cross the street at night out of fear, or noticed the subtle looks I get when walking with a white colleague. At first, these experiences felt strange, but over time, I’ve come to understand the underlying reasons. Black people are a minority in the UK, so any crime committed by a Black individual tends to be amplified. In a society where news consumption is high, the repeated portrayal of Black individuals as perpetrators of violent crimes—such as stabbings or gang-related activities—creates a damaging boomerang effect on how the entire community is perceived.

This has made me deeply concerned about starting a family and raising a balanced Black child in this environment. Cases like Axel Rudakubana and Valdo Calocane have been particularly troubling. Both committed horrific crimes that are almost beyond words—Axel killed three innocent children and could have taken more lives, while Valdo killed three random strangers in Nottingham. The ripple effects of such crimes on public perception of Black people will be devastating.

I’ve been trying to identify patterns or psychological factors that might explain their actions, hoping to learn how to be a better parent. Were they influenced by being first-generation immigrants? Were their parents too busy to be actively involved in their upbringing? Did their environment, schools, or peer groups play a role? Did they struggle with feelings of not belonging or trauma passed down from their parents? These questions keep circling in my mind.

Ultimately, I’m left wondering: How do you raise a confident, well-adjusted Black child in the UK—one who embraces their uniqueness, has strong self-esteem(Alanis Ogundipe comes to mind), and isn’t easily swayed or bullied? Would sending them to private schools or living in a better neighborhood make a difference? Who do I need to become to be a good Role model etc

I’d love to hear your thoughts on this, as your insights always provide a fresh perspective. Thank you

I will share my thoughts on this issue later on, but I am genuinely curious why you mentioned me to air them.

That said, there is a thread on raising children in the UK somewhere in the Travel Section.

You and Panso are sages, with holistic perspectives, deep insights, and a nuanced understanding that are truly awe-inspiring. Most people wouldn’t give this much thought, as they’re too stressed from picking up shifts and believe that providing necessities and maybe good schools is enough.

I see. Although, Panso is more of a sage than I am, and talking about raising black children in the abroad, he first outlined his thoughts. All of which I have realised/reasoned about within the past one year.

I remember the first time I heard about this cleaning company, we needed a fumigation service at our site before relocating there. So, my husband told me to call them to schedule an appointment for site inspection. At first I thought it is a sort of service for cleaning dead people at the mortuary but when I called, I was informed by the lady who attended to me that it is coined from this expression.. '"whoever is after cleaning, is after healthy living lifestyle...". So I just concluded that they are after a healthy living life. So that makes the name to stick to my memory. Good service, reasonable estimate and great customer service experience. You've got a good team.

I saw the detailed and more realistic reply by Sheblayze to you. I implore you to digest it. I am unmarried and don't have children, so I have no idea about how things are. Also, and most importantly, you are in Europe (presumably the UK), and I am in Japan/East Asia. These are vastly different societies with relation to raising fully black children. Asia itself is very different with regards to black people living here, so imagine it for raising children. Singapore and maybe Thailand could be much different, and better since they are multicultural. Maybe the Philippines as well, but nothing concern me with that country.

All the same, I am even more glad I am still unmarried as marrying and having child(ren) changes one's life trajectory. It ties one to a location for a considerable period. I don't want to be tied down at such a young age. I want to be free. In the Nigerian church I attend, I have come across Black children (7 - 11 years old), but I have not come across grown Black teens to assess things much clearer. Also, I don't live in Tokyo which is much more diverse to have a wider perspective of things. But anytime I think of marriage cum children, I am reminded of the mall environment I witnessed - lovely, jovial, boisterous etc - but l imagined how odd it will be for a black kid in such an environment even if the child understands the language and culture. Additionally, I cast my mind back to the scene at Tokyo Disneyland where an 8-year-old black boy was just roaming around looking lost until this black young lady beckoned to him and played with him because apparently, no one was interested in playing with him. Whether he came with a family or not, I no too sabi, but I knew he felt out of place.

Ultimately, anything I do now is for my economic prosperity and enjoyment. The only thing regarding children I am certain of is to have them as few as possible. My prosperity and enjoyment are non-negotiable.

You mentioned "moral decadence" with regard to raising children in Nigeria. Could you please explain how this moral decadence has been in Nigeria and to what effect? What did you see and assess that made you come to that conclusion? Also, the locality where you witnessed them.

Thanks.

Thanks for your reply. Reading through, I can see the clear difference between there and here. Until when/if I am ready, I will know what to do. Talking about the fraud money, our politicians laid the foundation for the malaise. Now, there are just different and many avenues to generate money via fraudulent means unlike the heyday of politics and maybe illicit drugs.

The major solution to most of Nigeria's problems is sustained and high-powered economic growth.

Nothing else.
