This case is beyond use and spoil but negligence of the primary health sector. It is as simple as that. It is a call for government to focus first on critical areas before their luxurious legacy projects like flyover and vice president's lodge.

back then when i used to work for FG, i enjoyed my NHS exercised on a PRIVATE HOSPITAL BILL.. heard that now NHS is no longer housing 3rd or sub (xray, some kinda tests n medical bills)
since when i moved abroad, My AA come respect it sef itself now it YEARS i bn to GP, except for when my Boy was born

How many PHCs have you visited?
I had my three kids all in PHCs. And there service was very good!

I didn't pay more than N2,500 for the first kid and 3,500 for the last to register for Antenatal. Delivery is free. And you pay for all the tests you do.

And the environment is also okay! All of them are on the mainland in Lagos.

It is not that they were perfect too. There is mosquito everywhere. Despite them requesting for insecticide in the Baby-Mother package, the nurses were still trying to economize those things i bought to be either sold or used later for others!

So i am a regular PHC user!

This is the case in most primary health care in most states in Nigeria. We really need to demand more from governors and local government chairmen. If you've not been to a primary health care center in Nigeria you'll not understand.
If not madness, please, how can one explain why a health care center shouldn't have 24 hours power.

UCH sef no get light for over 3months you dey talk about primary Health care? PHC wey don lana since when.. They are like Public Primary schools too.. All abadoned. Except for some few states,most are abadoned

The leaders will see the video and ignore it. Besides, they and their children get medical treatment outside the country. Until they ban foreign trips, we are not ready for the best in this country.

His Excellency, Rotimi Amaechi built over a hundred health centers, equipped them fully, employed doctors, gave the doctors cars, carried out free health care programs for children under 6 and adults over 80 years of age with special consideration for antenatal cases.

I am talking of FG, States and Local Government investing massively into primary healthcare. Making the centers high standard and also running fantastic healthcare programs.

FG does not have much business in the LG than to create a conducive environment. The LG has been empowered to service the Primary Health Centers under them. They have the funds. FG is creating the appropriate policies, laws and resources. LG is closer to the people. LG chairmen need to be looked into. Not FG.

The question is, are the FG providing that conducive environment? Also, Amaechi did not wait for LGA Chairmen before revamping the primary healthcare sector in Rivers State.

Money wasted by Government on jets, VP house, House of Assembly Car park, frivolous luxuries can be channeled into critical areas of development.

During Amaechi's time, state governments do receive the states and LG funds together. They remit whatever they wish to the LG.
State Governors are the emperors over the LG chairmen. They usually appoint whoever will submit to them! And they sack whoever disobeys them. Now we have a little autonomy from Tinubu/FG. LG can service the PHCs on their own now!

Funds for VP houses and what you claimed are part of the funds earmarked for the FG. States and LG get theirs too separately now!

What you call luxuries are provided for in the constitution. The VP must have a serviced lodge! They all must have luxury cars! It is what it is. Even State and LGs too have theirs.

It is called that too. But some are advanced that others. Some are only for maternity and minor illnesses.
