Woah!

In the UK?

How did this happen?

May God comfort and strengthen everyone she has left behind.

Chei!

Surely, they'll investigate this death, looking forward to the report!
Possibly an underlying ailment which she hadn't been paying attention to...!

Another strong possibility would be low attendance or keeping up with antenatal appointments due to busy schedules with work.

Maternal mortality happens everywhere on Earth... It's just less prevalent in developed nations.

When women go through labour and come out alive, it's a real miracle

So sad that what was supposed to be a thing of joy became that of pain and sorrow

I wonder how the husband would feel seeing the child. I pray he copes well with the reminder
Sadly, he will get married to another woman and move on in no time...I hope the child doesn't suffer from stepmom sad

True, true.

Just shocked as the numbers in the West are very low. 13 per 100,000 pregnancies in the UK.

Black women have had an increased risk of death at childbirth for as long as I have been alive.

Nothing to do with Nigerian doctors and more to do with underlying, undiagnosed health issues and a culture of indifference to Black patients in pain.
Black and Asian people have always had an "increased" risk of almost every key disease especially connected with heart and blood, according to those who draw up these stats.

I have often wondered why.

These people have a medical system over there they must adhere to. Nigerian doctors are as good as their foreign counterparts.

I was treated by a Nigerian doctor who moved here from the UK and it was one of the best medical services I received in my entire life. Let's desist from bringing down or looking down on our own.

Nothing in the article remotely connects the death of the woman with a Nigerian and we in a hurry to bring down our own.
When a trust is broken, you can hardly mend it. You may have good things to say about Nigerian doctors, but I don't.

My trust in them died the day I lost someone very close due to their incompetence.

I am talking about doctors parading themselves as consultants. To hell with all Nigerian doctors!

true story, this couple , husband worked in Guiness pulling in 6 million per month as one of the managers, wife is medical doctor in Florida . They have 2 children. The wife got cancer and died. They did a gofundme to raise money to look after the 2 children. They are in rich circles sha so you know competition to donate the most was happening.

Rich people don’t like spending. This rich white guy only flushes his toilet once a day because of water bills

Wherever one is in this life. It is worth thanking God for life. If only her trip to the Uk was never a success she most likely would have been very much alive wherever she was. Nature teaches mankind a lot of things. May her soul Rest In Peace

My sister died two years ago when the wrong blood type was passed into her by a doctor in Lagos. She was not suffering from any life threatening illness other than fibroid and a blood loss.
I honestly know how people feel about doctors in Nigeria but abroad, they are retrained, supervised and made to work under a senior doctor for a while.

The system in place would not allow a Nigerian doctor make a careless mistake abroad.

Do you know how much it's cost to bury someone in the UK. Many people seek church help to get a space or land to do proper burial.

As how ?

I wonder if she is a Lagosian who japa'd despite the mega city bragging from a quarter century of T-Pain's magic master plan for increasing revenue without commensurate improvement in common services and utilities like healthcare, which is why it is not ranked among gloval cities.

Rest in peace young lady, so painful. embarassed

My wife and other women who went to labour room and came back alive with their babies would think it's a normal thing.

I couldn't sleep that night until I got the good news......That was one of the scariest experiences I've had since I was born..
