I really hope so, too. But the biggest thing I want from him is to improve his positioning. I don’t think he has gone a single game this season without getting caught offside. He really needs to fix this.

He’s played 20 times for Gala this season and has been caught offsides 22 times. That’s far too many.
We don hear this thing reach 100 times from you
It's time you send Osimhen a dm and tell him

Chuba Akpom should be an option for the Super Eagles. I really enjoyed watching him today

Zaidu Sanusi on the bench for Porto
Zaidu entered the game at the 75 minutes mark to help Porto see out their clean sheet.

Peseiro overused that and Aina. He ran them ragged.

So I should just keep quiet when there’s obviously room for him to improve.

I want to see my compatriots doing well.

When he came to Turkey I thought he’d improve on that attribute owing to the lower profile of the Turkish League but that hasn’t materialized.

This lack of offside awareness can keep a lot of big clubs away from him, especially in the Prem where the speed of play is much faster.

I mean we saw it at the last WCQ against Ghana, he had an offside goal that could have been pivotal for us. Same thing in AFCON against Angola. He stays onside for that his goal and we don’t have to sweat to see out the game

Cyriel Dessers got his 3rd Europa League assist of the season tonight, thereby making it 8 assists overall this season. He's now well on his way to surpass the 9 assists he had last season. What a player!!! 🔥😎💥

N.B Transfermarkt is yet to update the Europa League assists, but they've already been recorded and displayed on the official Europa League website.

Osimhen is not the only super eagles player that needs improvement
You should focus on others too

And the goal against SA wasn't ruled out for offside
If you watched the match you will know why the goal was ruled out

You’re correct. I misspoke, it was the match against Angola. He scored the header but it was ruled off. He scores that and we kill the game at 2-0.

I’m particular about Osimhen because I think of all the Super Eagles he has the highest ceiling. I want him to do well because I know he has the capacity to do so.

Victor Osimhen starts for Galatasaray 🆚 Ajax
- The last time he played against Ajax, he ran 20 meters from goal to steal the ball from a defender and scored into an empty net in the last minutes of the game. cool

Cyriel Dessers starts for Rangers 🆚 Union Saint-Gilloise
He did it again 😁

History dey always repeat for football. 😌
Galatasaray's defence is the worst on the planet 😒

🇳🇬 Victor Osimhen's late consolation goal as Galatasaray lost 2–1 to Ajax tonight means that he has now scored for the fourth game in a row and also either scored or assisted in every single game he has played this year! 😳

He finished this match with a rating of 8.3 🌟

King of Strikers 🦁👑

you are just in a hurry, I never castigated the player, check Emeka's response and compare it to yours, I mentioned faults to balance my point cos many here (am not one of them) have raised their reservations about the player for club and country and not even in a bad light but just areas of concerns and that's where am coming from. It will be a contradiction for me to still go ahead to say how much I love the player cos, unlike others who count their legs when playing for the Eagles Bassey is none of such.

Calm down before you throw stones ok? looks like you were looking for a fight where there was none
Mogbe sorry maybe I came in too harsh, but when I saw the despite his faults it throw me off balance like what Obvious faults is he referring to.
Bassey is actually one player I love in the SE, so I get your point.

I actually skipped the post due to how you started off. Which one be "despite his faults"? Made the post appear so negative for a player who is one of our bests.

3. Moses simon beating and dribbling tru the middle two angolan defenders only to play a weak shot at the keeper
4. Osimhen beaten a defender and player a weak shot
5. Lookmans goal
so many many beautiful scoring chances to finish of Angola that day…on the other side Angola just had one ball that hit the bar and Nwabali’s save of mabululu close strike….

They are some matches in the recent era you can't help but rewatch. Just watch that Aina assist to ighalo, in my head I'm now debating which is the best assist I've seen.
And in no particular order this 3 top my list
1. Mikel assist to ighalo against Cameron
2.Kanu assist to utaka against Cameron
3.Aina assist to Ighalo (can't remember the country)

It just shows how unnecessarily critical we are sometimes due to the tension of watching live matches and the emotional passion involved, we played some beautiful football at Afcon against stubborn sides like Angola and even Cameroon, even under rohr we played brilliant football as I watched some former wcq recently especially with the trouncing of Cameroon by 4-nil at Uyo with folks like Mikel and Moses running the show.

You also need to watch the Afcon 2013 semi-final with Mali where the Eagles were playing some tiki-taka kind of football under the same Keshi folks said was playing boring football, our matter hmm na only God fit satisfy us.

90% of these matches are actually winnable if the super eagles play to their strengths with all seriousness.

Almost new super eagles coaches I can remember always start with a winning note.
So the first two matches can be won and make the qualifying easier.

I doubt we can beat SA in Joburg, at least à draw. The last games we played with them including at the last AFCON were very close to call.
