I only do Crypto these days and exited on Friday. My pension is already locked and weighted towards cash/fixed deposits and treasuries for the most part. I think I set only 20% of it to ride the stock market.

With cheap labour, a 600 million middle class population and having massive domestic spending power they can manufacture stuff at cheaper cost than every other nation. They have the best established supply chain of most products under the sun.

The foolish west hates fossil fuels but china is bringing online a new coal plant per week. The west energy is higher ,their labour higher, they have smart ass MBAs sending manufacturing to China.

When it comes to Africa they propose a project , they fund it and their companies build the project with plenty Chinese labor. They import almost everything say even cement whereas local companies are producing clinker. We used to say those guys doing the rebar are prisoners out on good conduct. I have seen tendering for roads where local companies with only three graders are competing with Chinese having hundreds of graders and with multi million dollar projects completed and backed by huge financial bonds. So the Chinese will.say...you want a railway. Tell us from.what point to what , we'll build it then you can start paying us off after xyz years at this rate. That's the debt trap.

Market crash is people’s retirements and lifetimes investments. some of who are past the age of waiting and playing the long game with their money. These are the same people that were promised the economy would be amazing overnight and they voted for him because of that promise.

Closed out a lot of my positions shortly after inauguration.
I think this next 6 months will be volatile and we're probably looking at an upcoming recession.
Made a lot of money under Biden, so rather not be greedy.

Will keep an eye out for any good positions.

BTW, Canada does not have a positive balance of trade with USA outside of Hydrocarbons, so there is no unfavourable balance with Canada. You might as well talk of balance with Saudi as if you won't still buy that oil elsewhere
