Trump's triumph was a personal one for me because of his position on Ukraine and affinity for peace.
I believe he's reasonable enough to advance the interests of his country without having to square off with Putin over anything.
Putin that I know is not even looking to throw blows with any body. He just want to do his thing and want the arrows away from hovering over his space.
A few trade wars with China, maybe.
But Russia is not much of a threat to America, and Trump would really mess up if he let anyone goad him towards that direction.

I am not a fan of China or Russia. Moreover, I support the US because I work and live there.

However, it seems hypocritical for the US to kick China out of the Panama Canal for a commercial enterprise while in the same vein pushing for Russia's neighbor Ukraine to join NATO for a military enterprise.

This is simply my opinion.
