ogbeni, you are the foolish one.
Lagos owns just one port as at now in Lagos.
that's the Lekki deep seaport. it is jointly owned by Lagos and Chinese investment group with FG owning a statutory 2.5%.
Dangote port is also partly owned by Lagos and DANGOTE.
The future Badagry seaport will also follow the same path as Lekki.

what has the Igbo governors done to attract investment in port building, or the South South.
what's wrong with Calabar, PH, Warri and Onne Ports?
Y'all claim its only for petrochemical products which has been debunked severally.
apart for some pharmaceuticals products going directly to Lagos for obvious reasons, the rest can be shipped through any port in Nigeria.
Oga sometime you need to read to comprehend and not just talk lest you show that you don't have sense. We know the ports in Lagos are not Lagos own. The idea here is the advantage the ports have gotten to Lagos that FG has not extended to other ports.
People like you lack comprehension.

Pardon my asking, where in the south east can a port be built?

You these ipob sef.. 70% imports end up in SE, which means 30% end up at other 5 geopolitical regions grin . Abeg, what's the population of SE compared to Lagos, Kano, PH, Oyo, Abuja, Delta, Kaduna etc where there are larger commercial markets than the entire SE. If you consumed 70% , why is the region has the lowest IGR in the entire Southern region?

How can 70% of Nigeria's Total imports end up in the east? Bro....calm down na

70% of imports end up in SE as how? As consumers or manufacturers/Value addition?
Stop deceiving yourself, SE doesn't possess the capacity for any of the above.

Agbadorians,
Facts are Facts! Stop hating..
I said that almost 70% of all inbound containers coming to Nigeria, end up in the south-east. That's mainly between, Onitsha, Aba and Nnewi.
I was not making it up. The federal government said so...

I told you that almost 70% of all inbound containers coming to Nigeria end up in the east! Period!! I didn't say the east consume everything. You are the one twiddling with trifles there..

Keep yapping untill I remind you that the remaining 35% or so that ends up in lagos and Abuja them is mainly controlled by the same people. ..

It's better to note that state cannot independently build and operate a seaport with the FG approval.

Your people are hopeless and jealous; Lagos has started and completed two metro lines and is now working on its third. Port Harcourt has wasted $400 million.

Lagos state has completed the Lekki Deep Seaport and is now working on the Badagary Deep Seaport. Akwa Ibom, Delta State and Cross River haven't even started looking for private investors; instead, they are building skyscrapers in Lagos...hopeless people.
The federal government has already approved the development of a deep sea port in Calabar and Akwa Ibom and expanded the port in Onitsha and Warri. I know you are aware of the approval, yet Igbos and SS are always looking for excuses to blame lagos for their hopelessness.

Nigeria’s Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved the Ibom deep sea port plan, paving the way for the project to move forward.
The Federal Government has endorsed the Bakassi Deep Seaport Integrated Project.

The project is an infrastructural initiative foe transforming Nigeria’s maritime sector and boosting the economy.

The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, announced the endorsement at a stakeholders’ engagement organised by the Cross River State government in Calabar, the state capital.
The Rivers State Monorail, also known as Rivers Monorail and occasionally as Port Harcourt Monorail, is a partially built monorail urban transportation project in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. Three stations and connecting guideway of Phase 1a were constructed and one vehicle was delivered but the line never went into operation and development stopped in 2016.

The project was announced in 2011 and construction commenced in 2012. As of September 2017 construction has only been partially completed despite $400 million having been spent[1] and the project is at a standstill.[2] Some reports says the project will never be completed.[3] As of 2021 news reports indicate the project has been abandoned.[

Battle with the facts dropped by the federal government and leave me and my under the mango tree education.

Do remember though that most of the monies shared every month, comes from import duties paid at these ports. So if almost all the containers are heading eastward, it obviously means that these people you love to hate are the ones providing the funds that are used to run your comatose states. . , while you ate busy on nairaland barking like a wild warthog..

You are obviously battling with basic comprehension here..
I will help you out of your misery;
That 70% of the containers ended up at Onitsha and Aba, doesn't mean that the contents were all consumed solely by South easterners. It simply means that businesses and business owners around those areas were responsible for importing those goods..., and ofcourse by extension, are also responsible for generating the humongous amounts raised by the federal government at the ports through duties.

My argument all along being that since these eastern businesses are the ones responsible for generating these huge amounts which are subsequently shared to all sorts of states including your Osun and Ekiti to fiddle with(the federal government has confirmed that most of monies shared to states these days as the monthly allocations, are from duties generated by the customs), irritating mutants like you should start respecting this region and this people who are basically responsible for keeping your states and local governments running..
