Karlovich:I was impressed with the way Khusanov pushed very high up the field on some occasions to break build up play and I expect with time it will become more common. What is the problem with that? |

Iheanacho has never been over hyped. His hype was on merit and the hype rightly died down also when he started declining. |

Rightly said. Iheanacho was never overhyped by the majority of posters here and even called for him to be dropped from an AFCON squad when his performances that year didn't measure up. Same way most asked for his recall once he started doing well again. ChrisKels: |

maidaboi:Where is Mbappe and Iheanacho now....even as at then na hype. Checking Osimhen and Lookman person go know say class dey,no need to hype them.... |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 12:12am On Feb 06, 2025 |
Kog45:The debate was then, not now. So why are you asking of now? There was no hype. It is just that people don't try to understand points. The point was deadliness in the box. Iheanacho at the time he was at Manchester City was a more lethal finisher in the box than Mbappe and the stats at that time showed it. No one said Iheanacho was a better player. All agreed that Mbappe was a better player than Iheanacho. The point was finishing. One year from now, another person will come up and repeat Iheanacho better than Mbappe talk. cc: jihday |

Kog45:Make we talk true.. as at when the Iheanacho-Mbappe comparison was made, it was well deserved—to some extent at least. Iheanacho at City was regarded as a future star by many pundits... it just didnt work out well for him... its life... |

Kog45:Don't forget "Onyekuru is more intelligent than Mahrez" hype too. Iheanacho is older than Mbappe with over 2 years, it was the the season shortly before the 2018 World Cup and I remember the argument persisting here. It was only during the tournament and subsequently that everyone making such claims had to face reality. Even then Mbappe had more goals than Iheanacho at club level with Monaco. Iheanacho stats at Man City: 64app 21 goals Mbappe stats at Monaco: 60app 27 goals Yet to some Iheanacho was deadlier. |

maidaboi:Thank you that on merit. They was a time Tammy was rated over Osimhen here, will you call that overhyped. Even Bojan was at one time rated above Messi. So according to komekn it was about the here and now 😉. |

Mbappe vs Iheanacho debate was in 2016/2017 season and Mbappe was far better but some people blinded with sentiment thought otherwise. I could remember they called me names because of that. Now, let us look back and see now all the players I vouched for. From Lookman, Dele, Simon, Ajagun, Solanke, Eze, etc did they not have a good career? Well, me no dey do sentiments. By the grace of God, I go soon establish football academy in few months time. Na free but based on your talent. ![]() When I tell dem about Nwakali and Iheanacho, dem think say I bi hater. ![]() Those boys are indeed talented but they have areas that showed they can't really achieve greater height. |
