Politics of interest. Even if he becomes governor of Anioma today, he will still not do better than the sheriff he is condemning. I perceived a lot of selfishness in his utterances. It's not necessarily because he lives delta state. Give him the opportunity and it will be something else. I have learnt even painfully though, that Nigerian politicians can never be trusted. They are just users. That's why when I see so much tribalism and hate because of politics and politicians I feel so sad. I don't trust any Nigerian politician, we can only manage a few of them |

I pity young men that are following these politicians. Those guys are after their pockets. The only condition that would make a member of national or state assemblies defect is when there is a division in the party or a merger of his party that he was to win the election and not that he or she was promised a state. When CPC, ACN and other merged, a member of ACN can decide to join PDP bc the platform that brought him to power does no longer exit. |

fergie001:What has Ned done in Idumuje Ugboko since he was representing them? He is saying he has no interest in being governor of Delta or the so called Anioma state,is it not power that he is losing that made him to jump ship to another party? Abeg. Ned is part of the problem in Delta state. For Delta state to move forward, old men who have been in power and have not done anything major should be pushed aside. He is talking about Anioma state,is that the reason why Delta North has remained the way it is for 20+ years? Someone that can't do what he is elected to do in his senatorial district is asking for a state. It's not by creating new states up and down. How well has the state been run? Has corruption stopped? Before it was that an Anioma person is not leading. Now Okowa came and nothing changed. This clownery should stop. |

Ringstonermasks:He can't even contest; it's not yet the turn of his constituency. After Delta central (which still has 2nd term left), it will be the turn of Delta south before it gets to Delta North again; unless they want to scatter Delta State. |

If that is truly the reason he joined, He had better leave APC now because if Tinubu could not get the North to approve the VAT formula, he will not be able to get them to approve new states. Mind you creating states is harder than amending the tax bill. Personally I think he is just saying that to get his followers to support him in APC. Nobody is creating any new state in Nigeria. Why? Because Ijebu will want their own, southern Kaduna will want their own, Northern Kaduna will oppose breaking up and creation of souther Kaduna and for that reason none will be created. The north will not vote in favour of any new state in the south without at least 1 in the North to balance. Ijebus will not vote in favour of any new state if they don’t get their own. To create 2 states in the south, the North will demand 2. In the end everybody will vote against it. |

God1000:Is it agba state or Apa state? Besides that north central already has 6 states creating another will make it 7 ,I think that was why even David mark failed to achieve that even though he was the Senate president, Ned argues that South East has only 5 states and anioma should be created as the 6th state of south east to balance |
| Re: Anioma State: "Why I Joined The APC" - Ned Nwoko by Odidigboigbo(m): 10:12am On Feb 06, 2025 |
Ned Nwoko is inconsequential in Delta State politics, he is more of a socialite than a politician. If not for Okowa, he wouldn't have been a senator. I want him to contest in the next election either for Senate or Governorship, let's how popular he think he is. This Someone that was unable to win PDP primaries against Peter Nwaoboshi |

Armaggedon:Glad you said southeast needs new state. Anioma is in southsouth. TO HAVE COMMENSURATE POLITICAL REPRESENTATION IN THE NASS FOR THE PEOPLE OF THE SOUTHEAST IS REASON WHY THEY ASK FOR EXTRA STATE FOR THE SOUTHEAST. IT IS NOT FOR BRINGING ALL IGBOS OUTSIDE THE SOUTHEAST TO BELONG TO THE SOUTHEAST. |
| Re: Anioma State: "Why I Joined The APC" - Ned Nwoko by lawani(m): 10:17am On Feb 06, 2025 |
If you want more states to be created, what you need to fight for is the abolition of the senate. |
| Re: Anioma State: "Why I Joined The APC" - Ned Nwoko by casualobserver: 10:17am On Feb 06, 2025*. Modified: 10:46am On Feb 06, 2025 |
paramakina202:If they like let them go to 20th reading, no new state will be created in Nigeria. Nigerians should read the constitution and the process for creation of states. We are also not a serious bunch of people, on the one had some are clamoring for restructuring and going back to regional government, on the other hand some want new states. If I were a senator or rep member clamoring for return to regional govt, I will never vote in favour of creating of any new state because it only makes it harder to achieve regional government. Apart from the North, the biggest problem with returning to regional govt is the governors. No governor who is still in his 1st term will support abolishing states in favour of regional government. The more states you create, the more powerful governors you create who won’t support regional government for selfish reasons. Therefore those ideological proponents of return to regionalism (of which there are many in the house and senate) will be opposed to the creation of any new state. |

EmperorCaesar:Like he said, whatever they are doing to win in PDP since 1999 he will replicate it now in APC. Meaning rigging. Sheriff is and wasn’t a big wig in Delta. Omo agege is more bigger than Sheriff Also the almighty Ibori PDP platform is already crumbling in Delta, his daughter has already defected. More politicians will follow just to secure their looting. I’m no APC fan but you can predict Nigeria politicians, they are after their pocket not the people. |

Mrfeel:Ned Nwoko should be told to argue for Anioma state as 7th state of the southsouth, not for the southeast. People of the southeast are arguing for a 6th state in the southeast to increase political representation of people of the southeast, as well as increase federal allocations and development projects, for the southeast. Ned Nwoko needs to stop being CLEVER BY HALF, exploiting the separatist sentiments of some southeast Igbos in asking for Anioma as sixth state for the southeast. |

We the good people of Anioma are with you, okawo and his fellow criminals can not continue to detect for us.How can sheriff be against Anioma state because okowa is not in support. How can okowa wants to return to Senate after 8 yrs governor. The greediness of okowa and his gang will cost sheriff his governor.Sherif should try and move from this unholy union with okowa and his greedy co politicians.Delta state is too big to be in the hands of okowa. |

Amah70:Ned Woko and all those distracting their supporters with wild goose chases should focus on good governance within the current structure. I repeat…No new state will be created. You can call me a bastard is ANY new state is created. Anyone with common sense and a knowledge of the constitution as well as the politics of state creation, knows that it is easier to get a camel through the eye of a needle than to create a state in Nigeria. It is only the military that can create states in Nigeria. The only time a state (region) was created in a civilian dispensation was when the Midwest region was carved out of the Western region. It was easier then because there were only 2 out of 3 votes needed so the eastern region and the north voted against the western region. The politics also favored the Midwest region as it was in the interest of both Balewa and Zik to weaken Awo and the western region. The middle belt also wanted their own region but it wasn’t in the interest of the North and not in the interest of the east to antagonize the North that was helping them to weaken the west. The only region that supported them was the western region but with only 1 vote, they never got their middle belt region. Point is Midwest region was created because 1) they had the votes and 2) the alignment of the political motivation of the majority vote in this case to weaken their opponent.. This is why I say creation of states is about the constitutional requirements and the politics. Now you need 25 out of 36 state parliaments to vote in your favour as opposed to 2 out of 3 during the creation of mid western state and you have to factor in the political implications. Already 13 core Northern states are against you, so from the start your votes are already in deficit. Of the 23 remaining (south plus middle belt), there are at least 5 or 6 that will not vote in your favour because either 1) they don’t want their own states broken up or to see their FAAc allocation reduced and will not support any new state or 2) they want their own state too and will not vote for another new state unless they get their own. . It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know…It’s never going to happen. |

Amah70:South south can't have a 7 state while south east still has 5 , plus Ned is not doing something new it something that has always been there , the igbos who were carved into the south west region during British Nigeria demanded to be carved into eastern region with their igbo relatives, it's because of the other minurity tribes of Edo ,ijaw ,esan isoko etc who didn't want to be in the south west region again that made them to settle for Midwest region instead , even while in the Midwest they still wanted to separate from the minurity to join their relatives across the Niger |

gidgiddy:Tell ekpa to enact that law in futureless Biafra land. When did you start picking interest in Nigeria political affair? If defection does not favour your party LP or PDP, it is because something is more faulty with them than other which should be put in order. Same avenue and equal right is what APC have to defect to LP or PDP vice versa. If defection does not favour your party, then restrategize. You are seeing the handwriting that Tinubu will rule you for second tenure, right? LP and PDP have collapsed, they can't challenge APC in the next election which translates to more pain to ipob |
