A lot is going wrong in the system because there's little to no regulatory frameworks to put things in checks! It's quite unfortunate

There is an app (used to be a hard copy book) that contains medications and their dosages.

When you're just starting and even after many years as a doctor, you don't have all the doses of medications in your head automatically. It is legal and we can consult the book once in a while so as not to make a mistake when prescribing drugs.

Alternatively, we confirm the dosage from other colleagues in the same clinic.

I may be wrong though. He may have been checking something else

That's how a bunch of half baked doctors nearly killed me in a private hospital when I had an urinary tract infection (UTI) years back. They could not even diagnose it, not to talk of applying medications. I was at the point of death after some days of high fever and semi consciousness when an experienced physiotherapist walked in and told them what was actually wrong with me, it was then they applied the right treatment and I came back to life.

This new set of doctors operating in Nigeria value no man's life because they possess mostly insignificant medical knowledge, and almost nothing about surgery. And unlike the western nations, when you die due to their carelessness, they pack you off to mortuary, after charging you a monstrous fee, with nothing happening to them. Because no one is willing to prosecute them.

If you visit a doctor and they don’t pay attention to you, instead focusing on their laptop or phone, just know that they’re likely consulting Google about your ailment.

The problem started after a nurse gave her injection. According to what he told us she was injected in the wrong place.




Even my younger brother almost had similar problem after a nurse gave him injection when he was a child. If not for my parents quick response and God's intervention something terrible could have happened.....After some days pus started coming outta his bumbum, my dad arrested the owner of the private hospital and the nurse who injected him. Las las my brother was taken to UBTH where he was properly treated. Till today the scar where they operated him is still there but it didn't affect his legs.

So you carry someone to hospital and you will first of all start asking the name of doctors. The nurses arrested will be the ones to provide that not the person that took his wife.

But my problem about this birth stuff is why people allow their wife to be at home to the last minute of labour before rushing to hospital. That is why you see some people giving birth on the road or in different unexpected places.

If you are doing the normal check up called artinatal (not sure of the spelling) you know when your wife should be due for delivery and within that time you observe certain pains in her that's different just take her to hospital and she could be there even if it two or three days before delivery because they will take care of her properly knowing the baby is about to come. This last minute thing should be avoided honestly.
