Dogs barked just once... I am guessing it's a Rottweiler. Those ones no get time for too much noise!

There are no mambas in Nigeria if I am not mistaken

That's a cobra. You should've given the dog a large dose of palm oil as first aid before going to the vet for the anti-venom. I pray the dog makes it

Palm oil won't do anything to help the dog.
Venom enters the blood and not "eaten" or swallowed.That is the only routevthrough which palm oil could have been of very limited help.

Once a coil finishes (supposing you once used one)

How long does it take till you mount another?

My advice though.... Put the granulated kola in strategic locations and monitor it periodically and replace as observed.

Just saying - that this approach worked for me.

In addition there are special chemicals which can help thwart of snake attack.

Your dog is as good as dead without proper vet intervention.

The only animals that can come out unscathed in a fight with this snake is a cat (faster reaction time) honey badger (immunity to venom) and the mongoose (immunity to venom).

I highly doubt this.If your snake can't eat according to you,it must have been affected by way of the swallowing reflex being affected in some way.
It's not out of exhaustion

what breed is your dog? Is it a pitbull or a bull? If not either, avoid your dog from attempting such next time. Although your dog is likely to be aggressive. But it’s your duty to protect it from danger as well. Next time it may not be lucky as now. You may not be around to safe it life. Get a cat within your territory to do the task instead of your dog.

Exactly what I was gonna say. The dog got bitten, and he's unlikely to survive. This is how I lost my pedigree german shepherd to a gaboon viper at my farm

Well, he meant the outside door of his sitting room, this simply mean that there's a sitting room inside door. Probably an old building style or something.

that is a cobra. Your dog is likely dead now, except by a stroke of luck, the vet has the specific anti-venom required
