Unlike you I actually worked in an oil company that used oracle. You do not sent untrained children who worked in unregulated anything goes startups to audit and records in an oracle database. You get people who have actual training and experience

Incidentally NNPC uses Oracle as an ERP solution. An actual employee of nnpc who worked in it would know this and would also know that it is not university graduates you bring to audit the records of an Erp system

i also worked in an oil company a very well known one from 2004 to 2019
in 2006 there was a full fledged it department, internal company security, internal cleaners
by 2015, large portions of these departments had all been outsourced and what we had were managers interfacing with vendors be it oracle, lenovo, etc

the name of the game is third party contract staff.
as a nigeran you should be familiar with this

more so in companies like NNPC where the company hiring the third parties is owned by an oga.
you will see it in the id card as different id cards have different stripes. full employee, temporary, contract.

if you work in nigerian run orgs you know how the game goes

you should understand that bemuruca was at best a lowly entry level it admin.

the ones who install windows, change hard drive, etal, set up conference call. the one who you pay 5k to change your laptop battery

Working in NNPC, we have a lot of equipment we don't own. mostly from MainOne which is now owned by Equinix, they are our ISP (in port harcourt and Benin what i can confirm). we use more than one ISP as we have backup systems in place. they bring in their radio and mount it. we use Satellites to link our oil rigs. those are our contractors. the come and fix their equipment, resolve issues with their modem. we own our switches and firewalls. when we want to connect our printers to the WAN we don't call contractors, when we want to expand out LAN we don't call contractors when we want to configure new Access points we don't call contractors. it is a work of 2 to 4 people. When we want to set up conference rooms we don't call contractors. when we want to onboard new staff transferred to our office we don't call contractors to set up a desktop for them.

What about research on diseases that are predominantly found in black communities? How do you get around to rewriting “black” so that your work doesn’t get flagged? You say “melanin rich people”?
