Thankgod89:If God exists in hell, there won't be pain and sorrow there, God's presencevis comforting, it is absence that brings pain and sorrow. Languishing in agony on the cross, Christ cried out in pain "My God, my God why have you forsaken me?". At that instant Christ was abandoned by God because he bore the weight of men's sins and God cannot behold sin". God serves his justice by departing from man, just like when the scripture says that the spirit of God departed from Saul. While crying for mercy in Ps.51, David said "Cast me not away from your presence O Lord, take not your holy Spirit from me". Hell is dark because God who is light is absent from there. You can contend it if you like.. |

blaise26abj:When it said that God is omnipresent, it means he is able to be everywhere at the same time. There is no place he cannot be but he abhors sins and cannot stand in presence of sin, so in as much as God can be everywhere at the same time, sin places condition on where he chooses to make himself felt. |

tete7000:Try to understand this—God’s omnipresence means He exists even in hell, but His presence there is one of judgment rather than comfort. You cannot define Him from just one point of view; He is the Creator of all things. Now, let’s look at Scripture: Revelation 14:10 speaks of torment "in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb," suggesting that God's justice is actively present in hell. Similarly, Psalm 139:8 states, "If I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there," showing that no place is truly devoid of God. Rather than hell being a place where God is absent, consider that its torment comes from His presence being experienced in the form of justice rather than peace. This aligns with the truth that God is both love and justice—those who reject Him experience His holiness not as blessing, but as judgment. Think about it! |

Thankgod89:If God is in hell, why is he'll in total darkness? And God omnipresent isn't that God is everywhere, it is that God can be in multiple places simultaneously. |
| Re: God Is Everywhere But God Is Not In Every Church by Thankgod89: 5:03am On Feb 10, 2025 |
tete7000:Hell is described as a place of darkness, not because God is absent, but because it is a place of separation from His goodness and glory. God's omnipresence means He sustains all things, but His presence is experienced differently depending on the place and purpose. In heaven, His presence is one of love and communion; in hell, it is one of judgment. Darkness in hell signifies the absence of His grace, not His complete absence. |
| Re: God Is Everywhere But God Is Not In Every Church by tete7000(m): 5:16am On Feb 10, 2025 |
Thankgod89:He is present yet his grace and glory are absent? You really sound confused. So God can be separated from his grace and glory. The one who is the Father of light and in whom there is no alteration or shadow caused by change (James 1:17) will be in a place and the place will be in total darkness? You tried. I don hear, bye. I no get energy for this debate anymore. I get better things to do. |
| Re: God Is Everywhere But God Is Not In Every Church by bixton(m): 5:51am On Feb 10, 2025 |
MaxInDHouse:Yes, it's self explanatory. But you're mistaken in your interpretation of it. The LORD has heard the outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah. It means the land itself speaks against the people for their sin is grave(grievous). It is the land crying out. The sin of the people destroys the land. The land cannot bear their iniquities anymore. It is the land that seeks the judgement to be carried against the people. So the LORD is even overwhelmed by such outburst of cry. Imagine your child performance in school is not just bad but extremely poor. The facts have been shown to you through the child's notebooks, test results, assignments, exams, etc, etc, but you as a parent found it hard to believe and you sought to come and confirm if it's the teacher of the child that's deliberately making your child to perform poorly in academics. |

bixton:NO! After the rebellion in the garden of Eden God assigned some angels who are roving about the earth {2Chronicles 16:9} they are the ones serving as eyes for Him {Ezekiel 10:12} these are the creatures reporting to Him whatever is happening in all the earth! |
| Re: God Is Everywhere But God Is Not In Every Church by bixton(m): 6:36am On Feb 10, 2025 |
MaxInDHouse:So from your description above it was the angels who reported to God about the sins of Sodom and Gomorrah. If that is the case, in your previous assertion of self explanatory that God is not omnipresent. Then why would the Lord have any need to come down and see for Himself? Does it mean He does not believe the report of His angels as it concerns Sodom and Gomorrah? |
| Re: God Is Everywhere But God Is Not In Every Church by MaxInDHouse(m): 7:30am On Feb 10, 2025 |
bixton:Those angels brings the report but since they are not merciful like God He has to send His only begotten Son who always represent Him among the angels to inspect before destroying those cities. Note that it was three men Abraham saw {Genesis 18:2} but only two were reported to have gotten to Sodom and Gomorah {Genesis 19:1} the third one speaking for God is Jesus just as he always represent his father! Exodus 13:21; 14:19 |
| Re: God Is Everywhere But God Is Not In Every Church by bixton(m): 8:04am On Feb 10, 2025 |
MaxInDHouse:You said God is not omnipresent from the onset. So if God said , He wants to come down and see for Himself how come the third angel as you said is Jesus Christ did accompany the other two angels into the land of Sodom and Gomorrah to go and see for Himself? At least it wasn't three angels that has visited the house of Lot? So why would the third angel as you said is Jesus Christ disobey God, His Father? |
| Re: God Is Everywhere But God Is Not In Every Church by MaxInDHouse(m): 8:19am On Feb 10, 2025 |
bixton:Those angels weren't sent to Abraham so when Jesus led them to Abraham it's for a reason to know what Abraham thinks about his nephew so since Abraham spoke in defense of his nephew it's clear that he held no grudge against him but then those two angels needs to prove that those cities deserves destruction Jesus became invisible to see how Sodomites will treat visitors and their actions proved that they all deserve to be destroyed along with their young ones! Genesis 19:4-5 |
| Re: God Is Everywhere But God Is Not In Every Church by bixton(m): 8:37am On Feb 10, 2025 |
MaxInDHouse:Three angels came visiting Abraham all visible. Two angels and one invisible angle went into Sodam and Gomorrah. So the invincible angel remained so, to enable him see how the people of the land would treat the two strange visitors?!!!! Are you really serious in your understanding and interpretation of all this? Your assertion is that Jesus Christ remained invincible to see how they would molest the strange visitors who are angels ! Why would Jesus Christ prefer that when He would have gotten first hand experience by the hand of the molesters? |

Cyprian221:Now read 14. In the Temple area he saw merchants selling cattle, sheep, and doves for sacrifices; he also saw dealers at tables exchanging foreign money. 15. Jesus made a whip from some ropes and chased them all out of the Temple. He drove out the sheep and cattle, scattered the money changers' coins over the floor, and turned over their tables. 16. Then, going over to the people who sold doves, he told them, "Get these things out of here. Stop turning my Father's house into a marketplace!" 17. Then his disciples remembered this prophecy from the Scriptures: "Passion for God's house will consume me." 18. But the Jewish leaders demanded, "What are you doing? If God gave you authority to do this, show us a miraculous sign to prove it." 19. "All right," Jesus replied. "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up." 20. "What!" they exclaimed. "It has taken forty-six years to build this Temple, and you can rebuild it in three days?" 21. But when Jesus said "this temple," he meant his own body. 22. After he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered he had said this, and they believed both the Scriptures and what Jesus had said. (John 2: 14-22) Firstly Jesus came to give a new template for worshipping and pleasing God away from the Old testament law practices. He told a samarian woman There is a time when people would no longer worship on this mountain and not even Jerusalem(the temple) but people would worship God in Truth and in Spirit John 4:23 The Temple that he entered was seen by everyone there as the house of God but he wanted everyone there to see that the temple is actually him.His body but he didn't want to say it directly to them like "This place is not the temple or House of God as you think" So he made that scene and those Jewish leaders asked him What are you doing? If God gave you authority to do this, show us a miraculous sign to prove it Then he indirectly told them that the way they would know the true temple is that , when it is destroyed, it would raise up back in three days. But the Jewish leaders said that that building called the temple was built in forty-six years and they asked how he was going to build it in three days But he was indirectly telling them that if the building there was the temple, it would raise up back after three days. If that temple then was the real temple, it would have still been standing till today because Everytime it is destroyed, it would have continued to rise up back every three days. But now, the Temple is nowhere to be found. Instead, Jesus the true temple died and rose up back after three days. This is why the disciples later understood and probably those Jewish leaders also later understood what he actually was saying after he died and woke up back. Now,Jesus dwells in our hearts today and he is the temple so we have the temple in us "our body is the temple of God" now.We also have the Altar in us inside him( Jesus). So do you still think that the Altar of God was in that temple or is in any of all these "churches" today?? |

TheAdvocate:No Never God cannot stay in any building or anywhere There are no sacred places where God would stay He can't even stay on Earth 25. "Now LORD, God of Israel, keep for your servant David my father the promises you made to him when you said,`You shall never fail to have a man to sit before me on the throne of Israel, if only your sons are careful in all they do to walk before me as you have done.' 26. And now, O God of Israel, let your word that you promised your servant David my father come true. 27. "But will God really dwell on earth? The heavens, even the highest heaven, cannot contain you. How much less this temple I have built! (1Kgs 8: 25-27) 1. This is what the LORD says: "Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. Where is the house you will build for me? Where will my resting place be? 2. Has not my hand made all these things, and so they came into being?" declares the LORD. "This is the one I esteem: he who is humble and contrite in spirit, and trembles at my word. (Isa 66: 1-2) Instead we dwell on Jesus and Jesus dwells in us and we then dwell on the father |

bixton:He is the angel representing God in their midst he did so to verify how barbaric the inhabitants of the land are. Note that no one can harm an angel but the Sodomites don't know that the two handsome men aren't humans. Jesus watched all these to confirm that Sodomites deserve to be annihilated. Please if you aren't comfortable with my response it's OK, there's no reason to insult someone for what he or she believes that's the same as attacking people for their beliefs! |

bixton:The only thing you found really difficult to agree with is that God isn't omnipresent there is nothing more i am giving you all the scriptures pointing to what i'm saying. If it's a pastor with a mighty church and millions of church members it won't be a matter of discussion. Of course God can be present in all the places if He wants to but there is one reason why He won't do that for now. |
