And u r myopic. Every profession have their dullards. I have met many pharmacists that don't know drug doses, some that don't know drug-drug interactions(which is basic pharmacology), but I don't go about castigating them. I know some docs that are dvmmies too
Stay on your lane and let others stay on theirs. Docs are more armed and rounded on health matters than any healthcare professional, it doesn't mean other professionals aren't important tho
My problem is that most of you medical doctors don't accept that such errors from your colleagues exist and that pharmacists correct those errors!

Accept the existence of those blunders and give credit to pharmacists for correcting them and there'll be harmony between the two professions. Not every time you're antagonizing pharmacists, even when they're seeking professional growth and better pay from government, you medical doctors come as a stumbling block yet you expect pharmacists to be at peace with youhuh It doesn't work that way

He's right, in the UK, you can become a medical doctor through apprenticeship without studying medicine in any University.
Embrace the change the world brings.
Actually just hearing this for the ist time.
While in Nigeria, you must demonstrate knowledge if not, no work. The contrast for me. Still can't believe it though, because there are things theory will teach you in saving a patient's life

Its like you have reading disability. I clearly stated in my reply that every profession has its retards. That includes medical doctors isn't it ? Did I exclude us?
Damn!
Please go to primary school and learn grammar

And how sure are you that the person who prescribed the antihypertensive was a pharmacist huh No well trained pharmacist would prescribe antihypertensive without keeping the patient under close monitoring. It is rare to see Pharmacists making such prescriptions in the first place without consulting a medical doctor. If we're talking about common sicknesses like malaria, common cold, pains and inflammations, that's a different ballgame.

See, you medical doctors have a penchant for lying against pharmacists for whatever selfish aims you want to achieve and until you stop that, our healthcare system would continue to experience disharmony among the professionals and patients would continue to bear the consequences.
Please speak for yourself. I don't know the country or city youre in but go to major cities like Lagos, PH and you'll see pharmacies doubling as hospitals. Some of the pharmacists wear Ward coats and consult with patients, pleading themselves as docs, and when the patients refer to them as docs, they don't correct them. Isn't that impersonation? If you are in PH, go to Mile 1 and see many o those pharmacies, prescribing IV drugs, administering them etc. Yet you are here talking trash from your anus

You!

Check:
A doctor of psychiatry is commonly referred to as a psychiatrist

You should know this better than me na!
Lol. 'Doctor of psychiatry' is a misnomer
Psychiatry is a branch of medicine. Imagine if someone calls a doctor, Doctor of Endocrinology instead of endocrinologist.
Simply call the person psychiatrist, instead of doctor of Psychiatry

Hello
No need for fight.
Na from the Oyinbo people I learn the grammar.

And, psychiatrist or psychiatry is not even a Nigerian language

You may have a point of the term is not used as such.
Like it's not usual to say doctor of biochemistry
Or Doctor of anatomy
Or Doctor of surgery
I get you

TenQ:
In every field, there are specialisations with extremely stiff learning curve.

Ophthalmology is deep
Ear Nose and Troth surgeons specialize for years
You think any doctor of Psychiatry can perform brain surgery with little addition of knowledge.

Each of these fields are difficult and that is why we have specialists in major hospitals
The word doctor was used loosely as medical practitioner
