This response just corroborate the fact that marital rape exists. You only succeeded to take the side of the man who may face financial stress as compared to when the woman complained of a mental stress.

Marital rape is real. Do not let anyone tell you otherwise. Your bodily autonomy rights remain even in marriage. It is a fundamental human right that not even marriage can strip you of.

And the Nigerian Criminal Code Act is clear that Rape, even in marriage, is a criminal offense!

Rape is a criminal offense in Nigeria even though rape victims risk being further victimized if they were to report the violation to authorities in Nigeria. Worse, the department of women affairs set up to take care of these case is also riddled with incompetence from top to bottom. 🤔

in the western world you can. In Nigeria there is nothing like marital rape according to the law. We have female senators and house of representatives who should be getting this law repeal. We have feminists who should petition the senate. None seem to be interested.
