Being a DPO doesn't mean you're corrupt or should be corrupt to occupy that office.
He has definitely been having his normal statutory promotion to his present rank, being a DPO was just an additional administrative position and task for him.

All of these happen everyday in Nigeria, a known terrorist in my LGA was arrested by Nigerian security agency and was marked for execution and kept behind bars for over a year but guess what? A top government officials came calling to release him and he was freed. How did i know this? The squad leader a senior ranking officer who led the mission happens to be my brother's friend and client and intimated us after the arrest and subsequent elimination plan by the government but this dude was cut off when the plan was hatched to free this dude by politicians who see him as necessary tool for 2027 elections. We were just given this security briefing because the dude knows it was our locality he was coming to pick up the suspect.

This country's security is messed up, go to a typical police station and see what they do there you will faint i kid you not

It means the state is in the hand of a wrong police officer,better the recall him back to Abuja and replace him with immediate effect before he turns the place upside down

Even reading the story you would realize this is a lazy concoction by the DPO using SR:you arrested some people,in the night you got a call to release them,the DPO called back(indeed),next day commissioner redeployed him,just like that.
He doesn't have true caller to identify the number or ask any officer that is technology savvy to do so?

The agency involved can ask for them or a request will be made for their transfer
