If a bag of rice that was 5k 9 years ago is now 100k, then you still expect mtn to not to increase by 50% one is deceiving himself. Infact mtn is being reasonable, the increase ought to be 500% to match with government increases.
Abi has gov not been steadily increasing eg customs duties, port charges etc? Infact government makes increase based on the $ exchange rate.

If someone had told our fathers that a time will come when the whole salary earned by a government worker will not be able to buy a bag of rice they would never have agreed.

The more they double workers salary, the more useless naira become with the prices of commodities skyrocketing in the market.

If MTN still runs on fuel then their advisers are bad, as far back as 2013, MTN were using Solar, in this economy, how many businesses still run on Gen? If you talk of Diesel, it's understandable. Do you know how much MTN make from the previous tariffs? Check their monthly and yearly earnings then you'll know they're still in the green zone, why increase your plans when they've already done it long ago. The data part is even worse sef, they give you a gig and when you use actual calculation, you'll realize it isn't a gig. I don't think these increments are good for their business, anyways, that's the essence of having different Telcos, one no favour you switch to the other, when they realize their earnings have declined they'll switch back.

I agree but, they've improved, plus they give you value for your money, I use to insult them but I've never had a regret since i started using Glo, sometimes i go to places where MTN reception is bad only for Glo to bail me out

Go and check Airtel, they have increased their tariff (100 %). Calls 100 percent and data too. It is only Glo that's yet to increase their own, though I don't use Glo line.
