I once had a discussion with one of my igbo friend two weeks ago.
He told me he has bought 2 plot of land somewhere in Ibadan for his building and poultry project which he want to commence before the year runs out. Immediately I heard it, I asked him if he has any land in the East where he is from. His reply almost made me throw up. He said he want to first build one in Ibadan before building in the East. It was right there I knew some igbo people are so senseless in thinking.

How can u erect a house in another person's land without first erecting in your own land?

Even business, how can u run a large percentage of business in another person's land while leaving yours?

There are no videos or pictures here giving out more specifics. If there's an element of truth in overzealousness on the part of those sent to demolish the structures, then it should be looked into. But if it's another of those cases of unlawful or illegal acquisition of lands for property development like the case of Festac Town extension (where violators were told by the FHA to officially stop construction work years back and video evidence to that effect was clearly uploaded here on NL in 2023) OR the case of encroachment (from the boundary of Ajao Estate) on the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) lands with residential buildings illegally built very near potentially flammable aviation fuel pipelines, then they have to go! This is the reason why the illegally built buildings in both locations (Festac Town extension and Ajao Estate) were demolished leading to the insidious emotional blackmails we saw then, but these folks didn't realize that video evidence of prior warnings to STOP construction years back existed. In any event, the appropriate Lagos State agency OR a Federal agency such as the FHA would give warnings ahead of time for you to desist from further construction but these folks think they can always bribe their ways out until the big sledge hammer strikes hard.

Do your due diligence always before getting leased lands to construct any building anywhere in the world. Even Ghana experiences these sorts of things and leases are only given to foreigners in Ghana for 50 years max and you have to surrender the land and anything built on it to the original land owners who have the absolute prerogative to use it for other purposes. Period.
