I've lived in the UK for decades and if you told me years ago that we could have thousands of white people old and young attacking mosques, burning hotels housing immigrants and attacking black people in the streets like happened in August last year during the Anti immigrant riots, I would have said this was not possible but alas it happened and it has made me rethink my safety and continued stay in the UK.

Even my Oyinbo neighbour who is married to an African woman seems happy with the anti immigrant riots based on some of his utterances around that time. I kukuma have now learnt to no longer see him as an open minded friend and I only interact with him only if necessary.

And it's going to get worse in the UK as the televised anti immigrant riots last year has let the racist genie out of the closet and Brits are now proud to wear the badge of honor of being called racist in public 'cos for the past 2 years the UK populace have been egged on by the racist rhetoric of the last conservative government and currently that of the crafty Kemi Badenoch who will sell her grandmother to become Prime Minister and Nigel Farage (Trump and Elon Musk's friend) of the racist Reform party who will probably become the next UK Prime Minister going by how toxic the racism in UK society and politics has become.

But what do you hear from black people and immigrants in the UK Deafening silence.

There are 650 seats in UK.

107 are already off the table for Reform (Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland) who always vote for their National Independence parties or Labour.

73 are off the table in London

Add Liverpool (die hard Labour), Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Leeds, Leicester, Derby, Nottingham and half the seats are gone. As in no chance of picking up even 20% of the vote in any parliamentary seat in these Cities.

We've not come to many other towns yet

Then of the half the seats that's left we have die hard Labour and die hard Conservative towns. Even if they take Conservative votes there, they are going nowhere.

Reform is dead on arrival. If they take more than 10 seats at the next election, it's been a great election. With Kemi leading the Conservatives, they could possibly do better and go up to 15. 30 is a number I will put my house on.

Hi. I am an African American mother living in a predominantly white neighborhood in the suburbs of Illinois. My 5-year-old just started Kindergarten this year. Yesterday he came home and told me that he "wishes his skin was white". It really broke my heart. I asked him why. He told me that "white skin is better". I asked him why would he think that and he said that everybody at his school is white and he wants white skin like his friends. I told him that his skin was beautiful and that he has brown skin like his family. I needed a minute to gather my thoughts so I let him leave the room after speaking about it shortly. I brought it back up to him the next day. I told him how much I loved his skin. How beautiful he was. I told him that just because he's different at school, does not mean he's bad. After our conversation, I had him repeat 4 key points of our conversation, which he did. I am still very bothered by this though. I worked hard to get my family out of the hood, due to how violent and dangerous it is (we've lost several family members due to the gun violence in Chicago) but I don't want my kids to grow up not loving themselves because of the neighborhood we live in and the schools they go to. I don't know what to do or how to help him. Please help
