I laugh when some corrupt element claim that Igbo hates them. The Igbos has always supported them but when it's time for them to support the Igbos without asking for anything in return. But na Tinubu and obasa brainwashed them into believing that the Igbos hate them because of politics .

Even when he canceled the election. He has only been vague,elusive and never given any coherent reason as to why he canceled the election.

I see the book hasn't shared any more light on that either.

I think his hand was forced to cancel the election by certain powerful people both military and civilian and he had no choice. I believe he really wanted to hand over to his longtime friend.

IBB and the members of his then Armed forces ruling council played this country and the entire citizens from 1985 until 1993, allowing Abacha to overthrow Shonekan in 1993, to further add misery to a grieving nation.

Babangida’s years are just like the back of my hand. Shagari’s so called corruption years were nothing compared to IBBs. Babangida was known as chop - I - chop.

It was Babangida who introduced the obnoxious import license regime, which was obtained by allocation, ending the open general import regime of the then Shagari’s regime. Import licenses were only given to the rich and well connected, who sold them at very huge sums, making billions for themselves.

Textile mills worked. Motor factories worked. There were jobs everywhere. The minimum wage was 200 naira as of 1983 and workers were happy. Rents were easy to pay. Lands were cheap to purchase. Many also got lands for free.

Shagari completed the Delta Steel company also.

He built the Bakalori Dam in Sokoto State, South Chad Irrigation Scheme, Borno State, Dadin Kowa Dam Bauchi State, Goronyo Dam Sokoto State, and Zobe Dam, Kastina State, Ogun river dam, Kafin Zaki dam in Bauchi state. He had too many projects.

Shagari moved the nation forward following Obasanjo.

IBB set the nation back with his famous SAP. He devalued our currency when he introduced the second tier foreign exchange market in 1986. The naira which could be bought and sold on all streets all over the world, effectively began its setback and failure. You could carry your naira cash and get it exchanged wherever you went on the streets on Europe and USA. Babangida ruined everything.

June 12 was a happy day for all Nigerians, irrespective of tribe and religion. Babangida conducted a very free and fair election on one hand and with the other ruined it. Abiola won the election, with no doubt from all and no objection from Ibrahim Tofa, his opponent.
