Yes. To explain position of law to them and prevent them from illegality. In this case, it's illegal to conduct election for offices that's not vacant.

He said the reinstated LG officials tenor expires by October. So Adeleke is being advised, but if he goes ahead, another legal battle will start

Federal government(Nigeria) has right to act in the interest of her citizens anywhere within and even outside the country. Osun government can contest the decision of the court where possible but conducting election is like running parallel government at the local level which of course will result in crisis.
