Don't mind that emergency phcn lover.
It's all right to abuse me.

But if you were running a business where less than a quarter of your customers actually paid full price for the thing you sell and the rest don't pay, or pay half of what they are supposed to pay or 10 percent of what they are supposed to pay, and ask you to forgive them the rest because poverty, you won't have much of a business left.

I have no sympathy or antagonism towards the discos and the gencos. But I find it strange that most of you who went to school supposedly seem not to realize that for any commercial concern to run well it has to make a profit so that improvements can be paid for.

And our discos are not making a profit because government rules means that they cannnot raise prices to a point where they would earn enough profit to pay for investments and pay for improvements and attract more investments.

And most importantly pay their workers and not be in a position where they are forced to sack them because there isn't enough profit.

And the workers are people like you.

And also profits help the same companies create jobs. Jobs for Nigerians like you

I doubt you actually finished primary school.

Good afternoon

Good afternoon
If you don't make your business profitable then you are not fit for business. Here is how to make phcn profitable if they will agree to work with it.
1. Metre every household
2. Work with the legislature to make laws that will severely punish offenders.
3. Make scapegoat of offenders publicly.
4. Repeat number 3 for at least 2 years without stop.
Then you have a profitable phcn
Both phcn and her consumers are only trying to outsmart each other. One is giving estimated billing The other is paying what he believes he has consumed.
Metre everyone and see the magic!!!!!!!
At least I went to nursery School.
Good evening.

So you mossed no 5.

Sell at a profit.

It costs about 160 naira to make one unit of power. Currently only band A consumers who make up 20 percent of customers pay above that. Everyone else pays at a discount with a subsidy covering the resultant loss.. subsidy is also inadequate.

We need 15 trillion naira annually to get to 24 hours power. Right now the sector has a profit of less than 1.5 trillion and is owed 2 trillion in subsides.

If you don't sell at a profit, you won't make enough to pay for improvements.

All you are arguing for makes no sense without selling at a profit

For more information about what I am talking about , peruse the following link.

The liqudity crunch

One more thing, most of the estimated billing thing arises because 40 percent of people are not paying, and some are even underpaying. SO, discos and gencos have to rip off their customers via estimated billing to survive.

Also, I don't support any government, and your abuising me does not change any of the facts.

Of course they have to sell at a profit. This will even make the consumer manage effectively their rate of power consumption. All this is playing out simply because only few Nigerians are metered. What do you say of a man who travels for 2 months comes back and meets 24 thousand naira bill to pay. So phcn are not the only suffering. The consumers too do suffer.

SO why are you abusing me?

Good evening. Better stop abusing people you disagree with.

Emergency phcn lover is not an abuse. If you were not one sided in your analysis then all this dogon turanci wouldn't have been necessary.
Enjoy your evening.

The way you guys defend your abusiveness is really sad.

I hope that that is the way you dont behave in real life.

Grow up and stop behaving like a child.

Hope you are not married, because u don't look like someone who can let things just go. Between emergency phcn lover and telling someone he didn't go to school and also saying he behaves like a child which of these sounds like an abuse. Please rest.

Because KEDC is not making enough to pay them due to

1. Government polices that force the company to sell power at a loss overall.

2. Most Nigerians not paying or underpaying for power

No money, no salary
There'll always be an excuse for something like this.

Because you have never run a business before.

The thing with you guys is, you don't know how businesses are run. They run on profit.

The power sector , most customers are either not paying for power used, or are underpaying for power used. Band A customers pay for power used at market reflective costs, and they are 20% of the total customer base.

Hence the massive losses, and debts that result. And government needing to pay a subsidy that even then is inadequate.

The sacking of workers is a side effect.

Welcome to reality

And grow up.
