Yes it was big then, but most of my colleagues then resigned cos they were disappointed at the pay. We that stayed cos it was a Government job never regretted our choices. I can only thank God sha.

80k that would ordinarily last one week. just like they said up there, it depends on a lotta factos.

they didn't get proper orientation... My dad was earning close to 800k as salary before he retired as a federal government worker.... Nothing like government job bro.. D money might be small at first but there are many benefits and many allowances, housing, leave... Etc

It sounds like a good amount but with the current state of things in Nigeria right now I don't think it will go a long way, especially if you are a family man.
But as a single with proper planning and sacrifice for now it's a good salary

Depends on the state and cost of living there. Transport to and fro the place just as someone highlighted is also a factor. Half bread is better than none though.
At the end of the month, add your profit after all expenses.

No state in Nigeria that things are cheap...
