Hi, please I need opinions and insights.

I met this girl 1.2yrs back, and we've been dating since then.

Recently, I was aware how her parents were pressuring her to take Police application form, which I know she has declined so many times, even in my presence talking to them on phone call.

But she told me yesterday that the pressure is too much and she will like to give it a trial( well we've once joke about it before and I told her I can't marry a police officer)

I have some reasons I can't marry one, from life and some other factors that could arise.

I don't want to discourage her, one may see be as narcissistic fellow or something, trying to not allow her to listen to her parents.

Right now, I did not react, I only wish her well, and of course, if she's shortlisted, I will have to back off.

Is that okay?

But even if she's not shortlisted, as long as she cannot convince her parent that she's already done with her degree, to find a job elsewhere, as a nurse she intended to be. What if they later tell her what to do and not in space of peace.

Should I just let her go or watch?

Thank you for incoming opinions 🙏

Firstly, you are against that profession.Secondly it appears her parents will have strong grip over her when she gets married. Thirdly you have not married her yet n may not end up with her.

My advice, walk away. The signs you will have a troubled marriage is staring at you. Be Wise.

Thanks for the insight.

I am not entirely against her profession, I am happy for her to choose what she want (I don't believe her parent can force her if she insist),

But that cannot work for me

Is there any wrong thing marrying a woman police that practice Nursing in the police force. Moreso, her parent that insist their daughter to join police is not daft because that is where the parent has comparative advantages when compare with other jobs. Secondly, marrying a woman police is the sweetest way because you have a cover/protection to certain level where you fear is if there is quarrel things among couple so she should not use her might on you which police terms and condition forbids.

The parents want what’s best for their daughter whom they had sent to school.

To youths of these days, advising a child to take a police job may sound or appear dumb, but if you have middle and low class parents, you’ll understand that they’re always big on job security which makes them covet federal jobs.

If you don’t want her to take the police job, you would have helped or pushed her to something better.

May your choices be favourable to you both, individually and collectively.

When girls bill, you guys direct them to their parents. You are not responsible for her you say.

Parents are actively involved in structuring their daughters future, now you fear they may force her to do somethings in future even though she doesn't want to. Lol make she disobey her parents for you because she has degree? grin grin

I no blame you, nah ladies giving boyfriends "husband benefits" I blame. undecided

To be honest, I don't think you read to understand my post.

I was never against her in any way. I am more than happy if she's shortlisted, but I can't cope with a Police Officer with so many reasons.

So where did I say I want her to disobey her parent?
