Nigeria shall be free from the bondage of international conspiracy. Tinubu refuses to introduce price control, insisting on market forces by increasing the supply side of the economy to force down the prices and it’s now yielding dividends.
Dangote has crashed the ex- depot price of pms to deal a crushing blow on the major marketers for their insistence on continued importation of refined petroleum products, despite local alternatives.

It is also aimed at dealing with dangote, if not petrol would have been 1500 per liter

Importation of PMS by oil marketers is good for Nigerians so as to kill off dangote's monopolistic tendencies in oil sector. If not so the same thing that happens with cement will happen with PMS.

What you're saying is contradictory.

Do you think Dangote is crashing the prices of his refined products because of me and you? It's because of stiff competition from imported products.

Import bans cause more damage than good. Countries do best when they focus resources on areas they have competitive or comparative advantage.

Dangote prefers protected markets so he can make obscene profits.

If he went into lithium or gold mining, he would make a killing and also generate massive amounts of foreign exchange as well.

I don't think so, I live at boarder area in Ogun State. The rate at which smugglers are smuggling rice through Cotonou, Imeko to Abeokuta is too much. As I am typing this, thousands of cars loaded with rice are heading towards randa, Lanfewa market in Abeokuta. Customs didn't stop them or cease any of their goods

Actually, the Agric Minister said the FG did not carry out any large-scale rice imports. I suspect they’ve lifted the ban on land border imports, as rice seems cheaper around the border areas. By the way, the FG should leave no room for a monopoly in fuel supplies—fuel imports must continue, or we’ll end up with the cement situation. They also need to significantly reduce the import duty on cement, as it's much cheaper compared to local producers, in order to reduce input costs in housing.

Some of you go on and on about this "monopolistic tendency" like it isn't the vacuum created by the Federal government in fixing our local refineries that got us here where a single man can hold us by the jugular! Put the blame where it should and let Dangote be!

He is a business man and not a father Christmas! An African country invited him to come "monopolize" their petroleum sector recently because he is doing what a government should do!

If not for Dangote our local refineries that the likes of Obj and co told us were scrap and should be sold for dirt cheap won't be revived! So, he took the risk of investing in that sector and today we are better for it.

Marketers have been importing and we used to have fuel scarcity with the arbitrary price fixing by this marketers but today there's competition in that sector with the coming in of Dangote.

He could monopolise everything and somehow his tomato paste died before it started?

Let me correct you on the notion that dangote's refinery resuscitated Nigeria local Refineries. That narrative is nothing but a big fat lie from the pit of hell. Dangote never did but reforms initiated by Federal government in the oil and gas sector such as passage of PIA and deregulation did.If federal government continues with the old systems in the oil and gas sector dangote refinery will never come to fruition and neither would Nigeria Refineries.

Also passed your blame to your saint Obasanjo and goodluck Jonathan who for many years intentionally left the Refineries moribund but resorted to spending billions in terms of dollars on turn around maintenance which never saw the light of day. What to happen to the money for the projects? Embezzled by the same governments.

Encomium must be given to Mohammed buhari and Bola Ahmed Tinubu for seeing the Refineries came to life. It is a landmark accomplishment for formulating policy frameworks that not only brought back life to our dead Refineries but also gave birth to enabled environment in the oil and gas sector which allowed for much investment and these give rise to dangote refinery and his likes. And in order not to undermine the gains, Federal government would need to ensure competition fosters among various stakeholders in the sector so as not to put the whole country energy security in the hands of one man who is monopolistic in nature
