pls how quick can someone get the SL ? what are the processess? which office will the sponsor walks into and get the letter for applicant? how much is it?
You don't buy SL. You ask someone you're related with or a friend to issue it to you. He or she walks into the ausländerbehörde in his/her city and they'll request for payslips, house contract, residence permit and insurance etc. they'll now determine the creditworthiness of the sponsor and issue it. They need your international passport page for this. It cost the sponsor just €29

Ask your questions here. I can answer everything regarding the Chancenkarte based on the information of those who got it from Nigeria.
Gotcha!
Thanks for explaining SL and for responding!

My questions
1. The guys going / gone for interviews, how long did it take after submitting their application to get called for interview. Also is the decision made right away ie after the interview or there is still a wait to know if one is successful or otherwise.
2. Expatrio Vs Fintiba for blocked funds...any idea which is better?
3. Do you reckon using own funds ie blocked account has an advantage over SL in the decision process? I can do either, obviously will spend less or nothing at all to get the SL but donno if it'll reduce my chances of getting the visa seeing as I'm asking someone to sponsor my stay 🤷🏾‍♀️

1. After you submit your documents on the consulate portal, they first check your SL/BA to make sure its complete. After that, they check other documents and ask for changes if there are any. It takes them 1 week to review after you've submitted and it's showing "Submitted for preliminary review". If everything is complete, they'll issue you a link to book an appointment which has available dates currently for this week until March ending. You'll get a decision 15 days after the interview at the embassy.

2. Fintiba will ask you for proof of funds source. If they're not satisfied, they might reject the funds. So just use Expatrio or coracle

3. BA and SL have the same weight. No one is above the other. Its a legal binding and the embassy just wants to see one

pls i want to understand more, currently on my registraton page it says waiting period is 2-8 weeks but the form is open for me to fill , when i'm done and after submission, will i need to wait for 2-8 weeks before they ask me to upload the document? and do you think i can still get dates within March if all my documents are okay by them? @Hannania

You're not yet in the preliminary stage yet. After the 2-8 weeks period, you'll be notified to upload the required docs

Hello @Hannania. Thanks for taking out time to answer these questions on here.

I wanted to ask about this Anabin degree thingy. So when I search for my Bachelors degree - Computer science - on Anabin, under "university degrees," filtered with "Nigeria," I see it listed. But when I click on it, my alma mater - University of Ilorin - isn't listed under "awarding institutions." Do I still need to do ZAB?

ps: For Nigeria, only 3 universities are listed as degree awarding institutions for Computer Science, namely; Unilag, Kola Daisi University, and Anchor University.

Thanks!
Re: Migrating To Germany For Free : The Chancekarte Discussions by victorygiven: 2:05pm On Feb 24, 2025
i think if your university degree is H+ and your degree is recognized you can go ahead, one thing is confusing me, if you see your university degree type e.g BA.Ed., BSc.Ed etc. but they didn't mention your course like geology, sociology .etc., can i use it? hope they will accept And in 2022 i gained Masters admission to a public university in Germany if my degree wasn't recognized they won't give me the admission then, so i might risk it. 208 euros in naira exchange rate is much o lol

i think you can use it but let @Hannania answer, university under it doesn't matter since you have same degree they issued

Yeah, I understand you. I have the same issue: my school is listed as H+ but my degree isn't listed. From what I read having one's degree listed as H+ on Anabim is important, so it's a bit confusing. Of course the 208 Euros is much, but my main concern is the 3 months wait period to do the ZAB process.

Just snap the page that has computer science. It must not be explicitly stated on your school.

PS: This is applicable now, they might change this later.

If your studied B.Sc computer science, it's not the same as B.Ed computer science. They won't accept it. It's not about the university in Germany, but the legal framework of chancenkarte. Please understand Germans are meticulous.

If you know the degree you have is not stated explicitly on anabin under your school, or under degree search, you might just waste your time.

I know a guy who was asked to go get ZAB and was given a deadline of 1 week or his application will be deleted, it's not even possible. Now he has been tagged as In-eligible on the portal.

So do this:

1. Make sure your school is H+
2. Your degree(MBBS, B.Eng, B.Sc, B.Tech etc) should be available under the degree search and have the name of your course. Else, they'll ask you for ZAB.
Re: Migrating To Germany For Free : The Chancekarte Discussions by victorygiven: 2:29pm On Feb 24, 2025
honestly that waiting period is too much, i read a post on fb the person got ZAB in 1 month but he is not a Nigerian he said it depend on how many applications they are currently reviewing so if we apply now we might be lucky not to wait for 3 months

hmmmn ,i fully understand you, my course carries two names in Nigeria, it's called Human Kinetics and Health Education in all universities, but on Anabin i only see Health Education can i use that? will they know it's same course? my certificate only shows Human Kinectics
2) can i write Teacher as my learned occupation and put a tech job as my future job in Germany? i know teacher is regulated so i am not going there to teach, i will work in Tech field

Apply for ZAB while submitting the one you have. When they ask for changes, show them the portal for ZAB application and how long. There are people waiting for over 4 months now with no reply from ZAB.

Remember you're going as a skilled worker to look for Job In your Field. If you don't have the tech skills already, it's a disaster for rejection. Make sure your CV and motivation letter states your skills, experience and the kind of Job your qualify for.
Re: Migrating To Germany For Free : The Chancekarte Discussions by victorygiven: 3:26pm On Feb 24, 2025
i have Tech Skills, i did training and i have my certificate to prove it , what other proof should i include? will they ask me questions about it on interview day? or do i need to include my portfolio? in my field of study i have many jobs career i can do with my certificate not necessarily teaching, the reason i want to go for tech is they don't regulate it and you need to speak German to work in tech field, do you think i should write another job instead of tech? i can work in education institution, healthcare, sports, fitness centers etc.

I asked 2 people in Germany about the opportunity card visa they said it's a scam, they told me have i met any Nigerian who was given the VISA? i told them the website to apply for it is official german consular portal still they argued that it's not real and that they will later ask me for money, i am confused here, is Germany Opportunity Card real? have any Nigerian gone for the interview before and given Visa? i will appreciate all comments and links to prove it's real, i need to send it to those people in Germany, they said if it's real they will know that they are living there.

Are you referring to the Asylum seekers in Germany who don't know what happening and living on 200 Euro monthly?
Is the Opportunity Card meant for only Nigerians?

Please use Google search and YouTube to research the opportunity card and make your conclusion.

Omo, omo. Apparently one doesn't need a full year of Blocked account money to apply for Chancenkarte. Half of it is now enough.

There are people in Germany who are asylum seekers or illegal migrants who don't know shit!! You can't go to Germany legally via work, study or job seeker visa(Former name of the opportunity card) and claim this is scam.

I strongly advise you change your circle of "friends". Those people you asked are the sort of people who have not made any thing meaningful with their lives, and even if you go to Deutschland, they'll give you same advise that made them fail.

I personally know more than 4 people who got the opportunity card visa. People going for studies visa can also tell you how little the number is for those who come for opportunity card.

Something that's been announced since last year nationally in Germany, and your so called friends don't know about? That's pathetic!!!!

For you to even doubt a visa that's on the German consulate, I don't think you can make it in Germany. Please look into UK or Italy. Germany is a meticulous country. If such basic details gives you headache, trust me you'll suffer in this nation. Goodluck
