In his case, the building where he works has access for him to roll his wheelchair into partly because of DEI.

Are there provisions for disabled people everywhere in Nigeria? If not maybe then you’re realizing those codes and rules exist for a reason. Because if they aren’t enforced, people will not implement them.

You and I agree that it’s common sense to use the most qualified person for each role, but the actual facts disagree with you and I. Just because it’s common sense doesn’t mean people are overlooking their biases and implementing this common sense principle.

That’s literally why the enforcement exists. Without enforcement few people will apply it.

Only if you’re deliberately choosing to disregard relevant history and current events will you say DEI is not useful to prevent discrimination.

Disabled people I'm almost every society face a lot of problems owing to lack of facilities.
A HR department I'm every org or agency in conjunction with management is enough to set the policies catering for everyone.
Leaving aside the physically impaired
