Despite the claim of gender inclusivity in his administration, no female government official was present on Friday when President Bola Tinubu signed the 2025 appropriation bill into law.

During the signing ceremony at the State House, Abuja, President Tinubu was surrounded by some male cabinet members, including Femi Gbajabiamila, his chief of staff (CoS).

Tajudeen Abbas, speaker of the house of representatives; Wale Edun, minister of finance and coordinating minister of the economy; Nuhu Ribadu, national security adviser (NSA); and Nyesom Wike, minister of the federal capital territory, were seen standing on the left-hand side of the president as he signed the document.

By the right were Solomon Adeola, senator representing Ogun west; Senate President Godswill Akpabio; and Abubakar Bagudu, minister of budget and economic planning.

Some key female officials in Tinubu’s cabinet include Jumoke Oduwole, minister of industry, trade, and investment; Doris Uzoka-Anite, minister of state for finance; and Mariya Mahmoud, FCT minister of state.

Tinubu signed the N54.99 trillion bill into law, marking a 99.96 percent increase from the 2024 budget of N27.5 trillion.

The national assembly approved the bill on February 13, after revisions to the president’s initial budget proposal of N49.7 trillion.

The key breakdown of the 2025 budget includes a total expenditure of N54.99 trillion, statutory transfers of N3.65 trillion, and a recurrent (non-debt) expenditure of N13.64 trillion.

Other components are capital expenditure (N23.96 trillion), debt servicing (N14.32 trillion), and a deficit-to-gross domestic product (GDP) ratio of 1.52 percent.

Is that what we should be after?
What difference does it make
Instead of clamoring for a comprehensive defense of how every single ministry and parastatal used the 2024 budget allocated to them.

We only hear budget has been signed but at the end of the year, nobody comes to account for us exactly how the money was used

Male present at the signing of National budget, no female present. Female sign it while male are looking. Female present and male no present.

Of what importance is this to Economic growth and national development?

Just to bring up issues and create unnecessary arguments.

It’s crazy.

This is instructive. Deliberate and conscious efforts must be made to make women feel inclusive in governance. The optics from the signing leaves much to be desired.

We should be interested in the content of the budget if it will benefit the common man all over Nigeria and not gender issue

Oh no, not again. Soon, we'll ask for all the states and tribes and religions and age groups to be properly represented.

I don't think it matters if a female is there or not.To be honest what Nigeria needs is people who are genuinely interested in the growth and progress of this country . regardless of gender or religion.
.
Let love for the country lead in the hearts and actions of this leaders .

For how long are we going to keep migrating to greener pastures when we are already blessed with wealth all around us as a nation and as a people.

So, my readers, please do me this favour for the LORD's sake; as a giver, help me.
I need your financial support to pay back my loan of 155,000 Naira.
However, I do not want to force you to help me; rather I would like you to do it of your own free will. So I will not do anything unless you agree.
You can favour me by sending money to My Bank Account Number: 3071631838; First Bank.
THANKS....

That’s why the world is in such turmoil today, because patriarchy overthrew matriarchy. Women are by far better managers. That is why they manage the home. Same with managing the country if men can just hands off. The world will continue going round in circles with future generations becoming more and more desolate until the proper hierarchy is achieved.

Did you watch the British documentary where girls and boys were separated into different apartments for a few days to see how they will fare? The boys devolved and destroyed while the girls thrived.
