MetalJigsaw:No comparison. Yaya Toure is one of the greatest players I ever saw play football. There is no comparison. Yaya Toure is in my top 10 footballers of all time. Okocha is in not my Top 20. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-W-OQUzQay0 |

charlesemeka85:Frightening complete. His ability was superhuman. I remember a game he wanted to take a free kick. The ball was too far from goal. When the referee turned, Nasri moved the ball closer. Yaya Toure collected the ball, moved it even more farther from the goal. Then scored it with a scorching curler. He was a delight to watch. |

TheGoodJoe:Okochavis far better. Okochas ability to control thr midfield is far ahead. Yayactkurevis a product of modern footballs hatred of flair. He is just effective that's all. Okochs eill collect the midfield from this your yaya toure. I don't see much about him compared to okocha. You will say tkure was more successful in Europe but European football is sometimes just tactics and team work. Which dribble did toure invent. I don't send yaya toure at all. Yaya what. Just a tall, effective player that's all. He did not bring beauty to football. No innovative technique, no anything |

TheGoodJoe:What can Yaya do in football that Okocha cannot easily do apart from defending, that Okocha cannot be compared with him? If Okocha were opportuned enough to play for any of the traditional top teams even if na Arsenal, the world for dey give am the respect he deserves. Yaya was more successful in Europe because he played in more organized ambitious teams. Sometimes these Europeans when ranking the most skillful players of all time, Okocha's name don't usually make top 10 sometimes, all because he did not play for a major top team. |

Napoleon55:We can't rate with if. No one doubts Okocha's talent but rating them, is what they did in football. Okocha vs Yaya is no comparison. Heck, Yaya Toure won African footballer of the year four times. Okocha never won it. |

Napoleon55:Okocha was not opportune but Yaya was opportune right, pls what brings opportunity in football?..... Okocha started well as a young player playing for Frankfurt but funny moved to Turkish league against all expectations the same Turkish league that no one rate as at today..... later had saved career transferred to PSG but again from PSG moved to very poor Bolton, now big question whose fault.......we cannot be rating player on (IF).... |

Philosopher1979:Okocha controlling midfield ahead of Yaya?FAR AHEAD according to you is exaggerating....Yaya in the middle was a powerhouse,so it's debatable between Yaya and Okocha |

One of the top reasons why I will forever regard Mikel Obi as one of the midfield greats of Nigerian football is his ability and talent to contend in midfield battles against Yaya Youre most especially in the biggest one at the Afcon in 2013 which definitely shocked Africa and most Nigerians. Nigeria vs CIV Afcon 2013 Quarterfinals was a midfield battle for the ages. Mikel Obi alongside Onazi somehow managed to come out on top vs Yaya and co. It wasn't easy against a complete midfield beast like Yaya. TheGoodJoe: |

JayJay Okocha is still the most talented player ever to come out of the African continent based on pure footballing tekkers/skills and technical ability. But technique and skills isn't everything. The story of Leandro Depetris and Victor Vazquez (both lads existed in same time period as Messi as youngsters yet couldn't make it for various reasons). Yaya Toure is the most complete midfielder ever to come out of Africa. He had the power, brawn, height, mass and brains. The physical beastness to face the toughest defenders and midfielders and make them cower, the long strides to make opponent's midfields look like a freeway, he had the engine also to power through tight situations and come out unscathed. HE WAS A COMPLETE POWERHOUSE OF A PLAYER. Okocha was the most talented CAM with the most flair and best skills on the pitch out of Africa but Yaya was the most complete midfielder out of Africa This is the difference. Philosopher1979: |

TheSuperNerd:Obi was a Trojan in our midfield in that game. I will say his best for the super eagles. Till date I still remember that last minute goal block he did to deny yaya an equalizer |

charlesemeka85:For me , d game against Spain 3-0 loss was mikel best game ever for super eagles ..he gave everything in that match but our inexperienced strikers couldn’t convert his assist .he also showed Chelsea dt he could as well function very well as a CM/AM as he played better against d duo of xavi and iniesta in dt game https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M17SGuhMglc?si=J83qQwNCW0Y_FNeH |

elyte89:tactics wise he was too damn perfect against Yaya in that game because if u rewatch that game you will understand that late keshi gave him that responsibility to nullify yaya’s threat which he did perfectly The game against Spain he was given the license to roam around as a number 10 |

Mikel obi had a better year back in 2013 than the Ivorian guy . Winning champion league and Afcon and Europa league in a calendar year. Come on super eagles fanatics let’s be logical about this |
