For some of us that partly grew up in the village, we used this in smoking meats and fish. If you no lock am, and you stand up commot, Dog or Cat go help you chop everything.

What I know is that my grandmother used to put fish inside the netty basket and dry them in the kitchen and I kid you not, those dried fish used to taste better and sweeter.....

My grandma kept smoked fish and other sea foods inside it and put it on fire from time to time, but with no padlock because there was no rat with ten fingers in our house.

I mentioned dogs and cats eating meat and fish if left unguarded. You saw everything I wrote there, except you have some comprehension issues

The padlock became necessary because of human rats 😃
