CFPB what I've seen dies an okay job. It shakes down greedy capitalists financial institutions and fines them heftily . Incases customers lost money it refunds them.
In other cases it uses the fines to fund leftist causes.
That's the problem , funding liberal causes and shaking diwn any financial institution it doesn't like.

Tariff will increase cost and reduce demand for their cars. In the long run it becomes more expensive to be in Mexico

But who cheers against an agency geared toward protecting consumers from big financial institutions? Silly people.

Years back I sued my car dealership in small claims court. I took it in for a repair after an accident and they put in the wrong sized axle (two different axles based on version of the model. Mine was the sports edition, wider base). The wheel fell off on the highway. I wanted them to repair it and pay for damages. The repair even had a warranty. They refused and made up some lie that I caused it. I was pissed as it could have been a bigger accident and so wanted to make a point.

Anyhow, while I was in court waiting for my case to be called. I sat and heard cases for credit card defaults. It was somewhat surprising that it was basically a default judgement mill.
The credit card companies would file cases will little evidence, there would be random attorneys in court who would stand in as attorneys for these cases if there was no attorney on the case.
So, if the defendant didn't show up, that attorney would get a default judgement (win). But ever so rarely a defendant would take time off of work and show up and of course the attorney who stood in would have no evidence to prove the case. Instead of the Judge ruling in favor of the defendant, the Judge would grant the credit card company a continuance. Lol. So the credit card company could have a second opportunity to get a default if the person couldn't take another day off of work or actually bring in some evidence. Now imagine if it wasn't your debt.
The system was weighted toward the big companies. The CFPB made it easier for consumers to fight back when stuff like this happened.

And I won my case.

That’s why it’s frustrating to even go back and forth with people who don’t know what they’re talking about. Just talking to talk.
