In Nigeria, secondary education is in the residual list which means that the primary responsibility for managing secondary education lies with state governments. State governments set the dates for the school term, etc. Most of the public secondary schools are also owned by the state.

You see, in a constitutional democracy, there are separate areas of control. There are things that are reserved for the federal government, things reserved for the state and things reserved for the local government (just as there is separation of power between the executive, legislative and judicial arms of government).

They have not made one solid point, they have not rebutted anything, they've just been jumping from sharia to Saudi to Lagos speaker and other things that have nothing to do with my post. I am not even sure that they are capable of understanding my posts.

I don't know if you know that Awo and Zik had to wait for Tafawa Balewa to go to school and study before oyinbos were able to handover Nigeria to them as a free country.

Whether you believe it or not, some of these atrocities carrying out in the North are driving Nigeria backward...you are such an ignorant as an ordinary northerners.

Bokoharam activity orchestrated by their elites just for them to be doing their illegal mining of the minerals resources in the North.

Banditry activities in the North is as a result of the above point...which has put stop to their farming activities and it is seriously affecting northern Nigeria and other regions benefitting from them.

Closure of schools for 5 weeks is bad and this is another activity that can bring backwardness to the state and a nation...I want you to know that the percentage of the Christian students schooling in the North might surpass that of Muslim students in the North or let's say 50-50 because those Muslim students don't like going to school.
In a secular nation like Nigeria, closing of schools is bad because it is going to affect the school general calendar and also cause a kind of setback to the affected students.
How are they going to cover up for those topic they failed to teach students before the exams comes in?

And one lunatic was arguing that how this suppose to bring backwardness to the North.
