We Won’t Honour Assembly’s Ultimatum - Rivers Government by robosky02(op): 9:35am On Mar 05, 2025
The Rivers State Government has reacted to the 48-hour ultimatum issued to Governor Siminalayi Fubara to re-present the 2025 Appropriation Bill to the State House of Assembly, led by Speaker Martins Amaewhule.

In its response, the government stated that it would not comply with the ultimatum as it had not yet received an official letter conveying the summon.

The House of Assembly had on Monday during its plenary given Fubara 48 hours to bring the appropriation bill following the Supreme Court judgement.

The House immediately communicated its decision to the governor in a letter dated March 3rd and signed by Amaewhule.

The ultimatum expired today, Wednesday.

But the state government in a letter addressed to the Right Honourable Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly dated March 5th said it had not received the said resolutions of the Assembly.

The government in the letter signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr. Tammy Danagogo, said its response was based on a letter it came across on the social media.

The government said: “As at the close of work on Tuesday, 4th March, 2025, we are yet to receive the said letter. Neither the office of the governor nor the deputy governor’s office, nor the office of the Accountant-General of the state has received the the said letter”.

The government told the House that the governor had in his state broadcast on March 2nd said notwithstanding his personal opinion on the Supreme Court judgement he would as a law-abiding citizen obey and implement the decisions in accordance with the rule of law and in the best interest of the people of Rivers State.

The letter added: “We have since been in contact with our lawyers, who are still awaiting the certified true copy of the judgement of the Supreme Court and hereby reassure you and all the good people of Rivers State that as soon as his Excellency receives the judgement, he will strive to implement same in the best interest of our people”.

Tinubu is responsible for what is happening in Rivers State.
Wike wants to have all Rivers state resources in his pocket just like Tinubu is doing with Lagos state.
They are both rascals who care less about the people, the country or the constitution. They just want to steal and pocket trillions of public funds

Since Wike has judiciary in his pocket, Fubara too has CJ of the state in his pocket too. Let's see how the 7 man panel constituted in the process of the impeachment would override the interest of CJ

Thunder strike those 27 useless committees of vagabonds.
Can they dare try to do an inch of this shits to the machete wielding wike if he were the governor? The former wiked Emperor of my state would have thought them all a bitter lesson by now. They are growing wings insulting the office of the governor just because Fubara is a very calm man. If Fubara can borrow just10% of wike's ruggedity by now this issues would have died prematurely.

As far as people like wike is still very active within the corridor of power, we should forget anything free and fair elections in 2027 except the whole electorate unit as one and fight that criminal hands down. Wike's men are strategically in control of the different police formation in Rivers state, most high ranking police officers still serve wike illegally. His lieutenant, Nwanosike, former executive thief of Ikwerre LGA is one of the urchins that deserve to be behind the bar for peace to reign in ikwerre LGA

grin Fubara, the only thing the can do is to rig election against you in the next contest. For now, they are weightless and toothless.

He is not confused. Fubara has the state CJ in his pocket. He will even be the one that will select the 7 man list and forward to the state CJ

The truth is that the state government won't act on the instruction on social media platform. There must be a written document address to the governor before he will respond.

Yes oo. Not only that, all the police officers strategically positioned by wike in Rivers state are paddy man to Nwanosike, imagine the whole commanders in the rank of CSPs and ACPs who were once in the government house occupying lower rank like the ASPs and DSPs were hurriedly promoted and posted to head different formations after Fubara fell out with wike. They are only answerable to wike and his team, u can imagine what it portend for 2027 elections. Mind you some of this officers were those who facilitated the rigging of elections from 2015 in Rivers

God bless you for this comment. Isn't this what I've been saying for long? A whopping 4 years may eventually be wasted with nothing to show for it, all because of a useless tussle between a godfather and godson. Both of them should be booted out of that state, walahi.

The governor needs to se the CTC of supreme court judgement before he takes any action, this clueless Amaewhule gives the state Governor 48hrs shows he doesn't have what it takes to lead.
