Bigotry and tribalism is one of the major reasons that deprived Nigeria from achieving greatness. Fortunately, it was largely limited to government but it has now reared its ugly head in the private sector.

Business and tribalism/bigotry never works together, especially in a capitalist society Nigeria claims to practice.

Dangote in collaboration with MRS released their fuel price template recently, but anyone that passed through school will feel disgusted at the template and the brazen bigotry!

Since the so-called subsidy removal, NNPCL will release its price template and it will be logical based on economics. Lagos will be cheapest, followed by SW region, then SS, SE, NC, NW and finally NE in that order. The reason is simple, the farther a region is from Lagos (the entry point) the more costly fuel will be.

So, Dangote/MRS should explain to Nigerians, particularly those of us from SE and SS why their fuel will be cheaper in far distant places like Sokoto, Maiduguiri, Kafanchan, Potiskum or Kano than nearby places like Benin, Warri, Onitsha, Portharcourt, Aba, or Uyo?

The only logical explanation is that Dangote/MRS are subsidising fuel in the North while exploiting those in SS and SE. This is a perfect example of robbing Peter to pay Paul and it should be condemned.

It is within the right of people in SS and SE to reject this wickedness and unfair treatment. We should rather patronise NNPCL that follows normal business factors and boycott those that rob us.

And to make it worse, it's the south south and south east that produce the crude they use to produce the fuels.
So they take their products and sell to other people at cheaper prices and charge the owners higher.

10 naira per litre might seem small but it will run into billions of naira when summed up. Dangote is doing massive PR against NNPCL in their struggle for market share and they can't afford a coordinated confrontation in the social media. And they would be forced to make a press release on why their fuel is expensive in the SS and SE yet cheaper in the far north. If they claim it's due to police extortion on the road, then they would have implicated the federal government and it would bring more awareness about the billions of naira being stolen in the SS and SE with government endorsement.

The more our people keep quiet over all these injustices, the more they're emboldened to do even more.

You're right 100%. The crop of so-called leaders we have today are mostly self-catering charlatans who don't even know what it means to be called a leader. The only person that used to challenge them sometimes is Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe.

Even after the war, the leaders we had then where still very bold. If it were these efulefus today, Igbos would have been reduced to slaves. I saw that Senator from Anambra state, the clown that wears long red cap going on interview to defend Akpabio. The day before was another Senator called Nwaebonyi defending Akpabio too. You see supposed leaders behaving like school boys sent on errand.

It's really disturbing. Dangote sells fuel very costly to SE and SS, and then uses the extra money it makes from us to subsidise the ones he sells cheaper in the North.

Historically, Lagos was never part of SW both during the first Republic and even before independence. It has always been separate from Western region. It was after state creations that you guys invaded them and took over their state.

If they decide to fight you guys today, they have the legal backing based on historical delineation of boundaries to chase you guys away. We in SE and SS, alongside North will give them all the necessary support they need. Before you argue blindly, remember we did it before when you guys were cheating the people of Midwest and they begged East and the North to intervene, we did and despite all your protests, Midwest was created and the map of SW reduced. It can still happen again. Remember that Fulanis and Igbos have invested billions of dollars in Lagos, so they have the motivation to support the indigenous people of Lagos, anytime they're ready to chase you guys back to your 5 States.
