Galatians 1:8, Paul says:

"But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse!"

Notice that Paul didn't say "If we or another angel..." if Jesus was an angel, Paul would say "If we or another angel..." By simply saying "If we or an angel..." Paul is saying there has never been an angel to bring the gospel, if any angel brings another gospel in future, let him be cursed. You see, he said "another gospel" because there had been a gospel. He didn't say "another angel" because there had been no angel.

And according to the scriptures he is the commander in chief of all heavenly armies.
