Cancer research is an ongoing effort. There are hundred of different kinds of cancers. There isn’t one size that fits all kinds of cancers. Many cancers are still incurable hence the research must go on.

If you want 4 billion dedicated to subsidizing cancer treatment, the cancer treatment has to be developed first no? That’s the point of research.

Some already developed treatments don’t work for certain people if they have certain genetic markers.
There are so many things to go into deciding what combination therapy is going to be applied to each person. Two people with the same type of cancer may not get the same treatment because their genetic makeup is different and that can determine efficacy.

It’s complicated.

You people make these flippant statements about important stuff because you believe it’ll never be you. But some of the treatment we use all over the world including in Nigeria were developed in places where research is taken seriously..
