Re: Lagos Set To Reclaim Makoko, Begins Sand Filling And Dredging by MyExpression(m):
That's a large waterbody.

Why not create an economic ecosystem around it, that will explore the waters.
We know you tamed the ocean but pls stop trying to tame every water.

You'll spend sooooo much holding water back, when we can create clear water channel and make the best of the water body.

Venice is doing it...what can we do for Makoko, without encroaching on aquatic territory.

PS.
Happy International Women's Day.

WHETHER DEM DEY RECLAIM OR RETAIN, THE PROPER THING IS TO FIRST REHOUSE THOSE PEOPLE ON LAND BEFORE DEMOLITION.

OTHERWISE LEAVE THEM WHERE THEY ARE, SO U DONT CAUSE PROBLEM OF THIEF AND STREET BURNING OF DESPERATE HUMANS, THEY ARE ALREADY IN A BAD SITUATION, DONT MAKE IT WORST.

The penchant to landfill the water is really distressing.

What happened to cleaning up and repurposing the shoreline to create beautiful scenery

Put it in better English, Tinubu's dynasty wants to take over Makoko. Where will the thousands of people be relocated? Now, Abeokuta street, Kadara, Iwaya, Onike, Okobaba, Coates, Odunfa, Apena, Cemetery streets will be flooded, if there is no proper drainage, with this sandfillings grin grin grin grin

Millions are now going to be homeless because capitalism does not care whether the poor live or die, governments main role is to protect and care for the populace, but since capitalism greed have eaten so deep into our system,we care no more for the people that we are supposed to care for.

I hope they listen to you. In these situations, the poor folk are always treated as disposable things. Lagos does not have a good track record on the matter.

Venice that is sinking? Who will maintain that in Nigeria?

My only concern is where the will they move that local people to?

Gentrification displaces communities that have been there for 100 years
