Good move!
It is starting to look like a competition. "My neighbour goes out to preach in the morning, so next week, I will go and preach too". Early morning madness.

Next should be the proliferation of all these pentecostal churches that litter all the streets of Nigeria. The southwest brought this menace to us. They are now encroaching heavily into living quarters with their noise pollution and must be stopped.

Let the serious ones be allowed to worship at designated areas, but the money makiing set ups need to be stopped.

This is the reason why some people hate Elrufai till today. Because of his anti nonsense stand on fake preachers and unqualified religious clerics Kaduna while he was a Governor.

Oga there's nothing like fake or original church. Whether the church is big or small, whether it has an old man as the GO or not, All of them are into the same business: pulpit banditry.

Good move. Others can learn from Soludo. It is only those who have never experienced life in more sophisticated climes who will not realise there is so much wrong with how we practice religious worship in Nigeria. I.e making such a direct nuisance to others rather than worship in private homes, or church/Mosque premises and convention arena.

Moslems too will do their own madness and turn even public roads into temporary mosques to then be a menace to Nigerians going about their business.

In all this, we see no benefit to Nigeria and Nigerians, one of the most religious nation and people on earth respectively, with how Nigeria remains one of the most backwards nation on earth while Nigerians are some of the most poverty-stricken and most socio-economically disadvantaged human beings in the world because Nigerians have bastardized the essence of religion.

In fact, religious practice, the Nigerian way, has made me virtually atheist today whereas I was a fairly dedicated and Church-attending Christian while living in the West. I never go to church in Nigeria. I would rather watch paint dry than go and listen to the rants of glorified prosperity pastorpreneurs pretending to bee men of God.

Nigerians make religion unattractive to sophisticated folks with how they practice it without godliness and deep spirituality, and have turned into prosperity demand from God, plus how they use it to constitute a nuisance to others in so many ways.

Kudos to Soludo. Keep Christian and Islamic worship limited to your homes, Church and Mosque strictly. It is no coincidence that the best nations on earth to live in are the ones who insist on secularity and the utmost need to exclude religion from the public life, politics and socio-economic considerations of a people.

Absolutely. Whether Yoruba, Igbo, Edo or Akwa Ibom Church, it is all about robbing and deceiving people and promising fake miracles. Religion, especially Christianity, is a glorified 419 Ponzi scheme in Nigeria with every ethnic group being into the shameless daylight robbery.

Religion is one of the biggest problems of Nigeria and Soludo's effort to keep it away from assaulting Anambra folks, publicly, is a good move in my opinion.

Fool. Are Pastor "Odumeje", Chukwuemeka Cyril Ohanaemere, and many of his kind in the SE not some of the worst exponent of childishly fraudulent Christian worship?

They are crudely assaulting people, slapping, punching and kicking them in the groin, claiming to be casting out demons and spirits of fornication etal.

Mumus like you, cursed with irreversible bigotry, are the reasons all Nigerians cannot challenge common problems.

Soludo take it easy, stop making yourself an enemy of God.

Evangelism is not the reason for your poor performance in Anambra state

This means that the native doctors in Police custody are in for a long ride.

The Anambra State government will cite these bans on religious preachers as an evidence that the government is not after native deity worshippers

You write like a child. Nobody can fight religion in Nigeria because those who gave you the mandate are deeply into the practice.

In fact, there would've been a bloody revolution in Nigeria because of leadership failure had religious leaders not used their teachings to give us hope.

So, no, you cannot fight religion in Nigeria; you can only regulate it or work with them to achieve your objectives.

Christian led state, making laws that jeopardise same Christianity they claim to worship.

Well....law is for man, not man for the law...including all religious laws that infringe on another man's right.

Why? Have you ever been to nations where citizens are encouraged to restrict their religious practices to their homes and designated areas or worship like churches and Mosques? Those nation work much better than Nigerian even though our people will mock them as unserious Christians and Moslems because they don't shove their faith in the faces of others and make such a public nuisance as Nigerians Christians and Moslems are happy to do.

We have a long way to go in Nigeria because many don't know better and are being prevented from knowing better by leaders who believe a docile citizenry should be encouraged to be over-religious so that they turn to God for everything to include what leaders should deliver as a must.

Look at how long ago Karl Max identified what I am saying here with his observation that "religion is the opium of the masses" while Nigerians are still defending over-religiosity today.

I challenge any Nairalanders to deny that all that is shown below, to explain the talk of Marx, does not apply 100% to Nigeria today more than any other nation on earth. We need to de-emphasise the concept of a God to solve all our problems and focus on our own capacity to create solutions fro ourselves through Skill acquisition and tackling leaders to use our money to deliver the quality of life we need and voted them to provide.

If one God can solve all our problems today as Nigerian pastors swear during every sermon, and given how long Nigeria has been hailed one of the most religious nation on Earth, why is our Country no closer to Egypt and South Africa today talk less ofthe UK, USA, Canada, Denmark etal? How does it make sense God does not listen to those who worship him most fervently yet he makes "sinful" Nations like USA the greatest on Earth and not Nigeria?

The irony of all this is our adherents of traditional beliefs, that predates Christianity and Islam, actually never create any problem for Nigeria today as Christianity and Islam do when both are even 'imported' religions.

It's not enforceable in court. Have you asked yourself how many Anambrians are in jail for violating the Burial law passed and signed into law in Anambra State? There is no King in Igboland that can trample culture and religion.

The church will see it as persecution and flagrantly violate it to shame the Governor and he can do nothing about it.

Acts 5:27-29 NIV
The apostles were brought in and made to appear before the Sanhedrin to be questioned by the high priest. [28] “We gave you strict orders not to teach in this name,” he said. “Yet you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and are determined to make us guilty of this man's blood.” [29] Peter and the other apostles replied: “We must obey God rather than human beings!

Re: Soludo Bans Street Preachers In Anambra by IgboProgress:
I think Soludo is trying to stop the loudspeaker preaching rather than banning preaching. Preaching gently in low tone (unless you are preaching to large listeners) and preaching what is right, in the market, to willing listeners, is good and won't be penalized. The issue he is trying to fix from what I understand is noisy and false preachings. All these are due to the deviation from the Word of GOD.
Nevertheless, no one can stop what GOD has ordained to be. There is a way to preach the gospel that is acceptable to GOD. CHRIST has showed us how to do it. If you are a true Christian, you should be following the footstep or doctrine of CHRIST. Learn how CHRIST and HIS apostles preached to people. But it's better to be qualified by GOD so you don't have to learn and learn it wrongly. GOD qualifies his ministers, evangelists or preachers with the Holy Spirit and by putting the Word of GOD in their hearts.
