zero8zero:Shut up there abeg! When your Tinubu was dragging the price up with his useless policies, didn't he realize the negative attitude of Nigerians? You are coming to support nonsense. |

zero8zero:Transporters, market sellers are the problems of this country but effective and efficient government should bring out price regulatory agency with a task force to combat market sellers or transporters hiking prices |

Actually, one of the major problems we have in this country is greed. Not from government, but from the people themselves, so I’m not surprised |

KenghisKhan:Its like Nigerians secretly pray for inflation so they can use the opportunity to massively inflate the prices of products otherwise how do you explain their bland refusal to ensure price reduction? It's no longer economies determined by market forces but by insatiable greed. |

The wavery and unpredictability of the refinery prices is why the transport services are being reluctant. Most service outlets and transporters will wait and study the trends well before getting convinced to change their price. Govt now see that it has a lot to do with consistency about this thing (they have to keep FX rate stable consistently, since they don't have a say over international oil price). |

Nigeria Economy defy's law of Gravity. Whatever goes up in Nigeria never comes down. Pure Greed |

Greed is the bane of the average Nigerian, unfortunately. Even when things have eased up a bit, most traders, transporters, landlords and marketers still maintain their high prices, some even up them further. God help us |

zero8zero:At this juncture, I think government should step in with a legislation. How can you increase significantly when small increase on pump price but can do same when it goes down. Other countries love Thier nation but Nigerians love themselves alone. |

Ushman333:NNPC is a limited liability company. Fem no send anybody. Former NNPC was a corporation owned by FG with stake at least 51%. The transformation of NNPC to limited liability was a fraud in itself. Good evening |

😆 ...see who is calling others dullards.. ; 🤣 It is easy to know those who do not have the basic understanding of primary school economics/commerce or to know of pricing dynamics in elementary management accounting. A comment like the one below sells such a person out easily and puts him/her naked to the discerning. TimeManager: |

I was very disappointed the day a CNG-operated keke Marwa charged me the same fare (₦600) that his petrol-operated counterparts were charging for the same route in Lagos. Some of these transporters can be so greedy & inconsiderate. |

Na government cause am joor, dem suppose to dey give transporters free repair parts and fuel so that they'll reduce transport cost. 😁 We push all the blame on the government forgetting that we owe ourselves responsibility of fairness |

Don't be surprised Nigerians, e dey happen for abroad too, it is human nature to be greedy. What needs to happen is that government enact and enforce laws against this greed, something like an anti price gourging law or monopoly law. This is what was done in California during Covid and plenty of business owners were fined or jailed......It takes madness to cure madness ![]() |
| Re: Fuel Price Slash: We Won’t Reduce Fares – Transporters by Blazetrailer: 9:03pm On Mar 08, 2025*. Modified: 9:47pm On Mar 08, 2025 |
Wrong. Former NNPC was owned 100% by Nigerians via the Federal government. NNPC in turn held a majority stake in all oil JVs on behalf of Nigerians Current NNPCL is still a government linked company(google GLC) established via an act of parliament. In a way it is still owned by the Nigerian public represented by the FG as a majority shareholder, much like Crown Corporations in UK/Canada and Government partnership enterprises in the US. Just a a point of correction. I agree with you though,on the less than transparent approach of the PIB and the obvious shenanigans surrounding it. Lush100: |

Make life easy for Nigerians, why? Nigerians themselves enjoy suffering. It’s one of two options; make things easy for them and they’ll abuse the situation or make things difficult for them and they’ll act humble. I know the decision I’ll take. |
| Re: Fuel Price Slash: We Won’t Reduce Fares – Transporters by Lush100(m): 9:19pm On Mar 08, 2025 |
Again. It can't come down that easily. It takes time to effect. It will go down if the price remains consistently lower or the same. Some others will reduce to drive patronage and others will follow suit. If u are running a business You can deduce Not holding brief for greedy traders though |
