The Lagos State Government has blamed saboteurs for the absence of bags of rice produced from the state rice mill in the market, saying some people would buy the rice and re-bag them as foreign rice to be sold outside the state.https://dailytrust.com/why-lagos-rice-is-hardly-seen-in-the-market-lasg/

Wahala. Ordinary rice plant, an entire government cannot manage. Are you telling me a private individual will fold their hands and watch their dream go to waste? Here's a government, with an army of resources at their disposal giving excuses. Just say it isn't working. That's much more believable. |

Nonsense! So why does your system allow bulk sales of a product intended for household consumers? |
| Re: Why Lagos Rice Is Hardly Seen In The Market – LASG by SmartyPants(m): 2:29pm On Mar 09, 2025 |
They should sell the rice at market price. This will solve a big part of the problem. |

When Ambode was governor, we used to get Lagos rice (Lake Rice) at specific locations like all over Lagos, now it's Sanwo Olu's turn, so many stories, they changed the entire system. Sanwo-Olu hasn't lived up to expectations at all. He might not have any legacy to leave after 8 years of governorship. |

Audio rice . I remember the fanfare that greeted the rice mill a few years ago but today it’s no more. These people can never manage anything. Give them something good to manage, not only will they ruin it but grind it into the dust. Only the usual fools living in fools paradise are expecting something good for their illegitimate government based only on propaganda…smh |

Why do they keep selling to those people he mentioned? Did they not also do feasibility studies on how to get their raw materials before venturing into such project? Since 2023 that they opened the place, do they just know that the problem exist or persist? If I have my way, they're the ones buying and rebagging the commodity! |

I was reading to see measures taken to curb the situation. It's only in Nigeria government is quick to identifying problems and do nothing at solving it. They take glory in identifying a problem. |

When Ambode was governor, there was lake rice everywhere mostly during festive seasons. There was no rice mill in Lagos then o. Mr. SANWO with his rice mill in imota haven’t shown us one bag of rice from the mill talk more of buying. |
