raumdeuter:No worry. Nigerians have rejected APC. That's the key point |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by afrodoc2: 5:48am On Mar 11, 2025 |
Spy360:They rejected APC before the last election as well. If the opposition is divided again the result might not change by much. It is like they should be teaching all Nigerians Electoral Mathematics at WAEC level. Pre-electoral Arithmetic will empower people more than post-electoral copium. |

Elections in Nigeria are prosecuted with money. Pdp gave fayose over 2bn in cash to prosecute the Ekiti election in 2013. Pdp is no longer in power and they have no access to federal cash. In the evolution of apc from ac to qcn to apc, it was lagos funds that were used to prosecute the elections in the SW that grew the parties footprint From 2015 to 2023 for all intents amd purposes, it was port Harcourt money carrying pdp. And this was becof Wike's ambitions to be a shot caller in pdp and the 2023 nominee. Right now Fubara is facing actual political survival and has no time to focus on party activities. So the question is - who will fund pdps federal ambitions? The only contender with the war chest is Atiku. And Atiku will not step down for anyone. It is simply not in his DNA and he is also too old to take the chance of waiting for 8 years. So let us sit back and watch |

To be honest, Elrufai's defection to SDP na just waste of everything known to Man. He should have just gone back to PDP, since he wants a coalition. There's nothing his SDP would offer to anyone at the table. In a nutshell, there's no breathe of fresh air. The person wey use new party enter, go still use am defect. |

GloriousGbola:PDP still has governors nau. The way you guys say it, it is as if only Wike brought money to PDP, and others were watching. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by GloriousGbola: 7:53am On Mar 11, 2025 |
izzou:Which govenors? Is it the northern governors who were collecting money from wike to run election? Like ndume and the bauchi governor? As far as I can tell, most of the SS states did not do much from 2015 to 2023.wike was doing all the lifting. It is unfortunate he has a caustic personality. I am sure you remember how he was blackmailing pdp to hold summits in port Harcourt. To the point they were all meeting with him to kiss his ass. How much is that 2.2 billion used for Ekiti today? Also, by paying funds directly to LG chairmen, the fundraising abilities of governors has been seriously hampered |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by izzou(m): 8:19am On Mar 11, 2025 |
GloriousGbola:The elections that the PDP governors won in their respective states, was it Wike that gave them money to prosecute? In the SS, Minus Fubara, PDP has 3 governors. In the SE, 1, SW, 2 and the rest up north. So which one be say na only Wike get money to bring? They obviously cannot match APC in spending power, but don't make it look like they will be carrying plates to beg for money. |

izzou:what i saw in 2015 to 2023 was wike as the loudest voice in pdp unless the other governors were dropping money without making noise he was the defacto voice of pdp https://www.premiumtimesng.com/regional/nnorth-east/770200-how-wike-funded-bauchi-governors-election-campaign-in-2019-ex-speaker-dogara.html How Wike funded Bauchi governor’s election campaign in 2019 – Ex-Speaker Dogarahttps://www.pulse.ng/news/local/gov-wike-donates-n500m-to-sokoto-state/de0s7ft FLASH: Governor Nyesom Wike earlier today announced the donation of N500million to the Sokoto State Government to support the rebuilding of the Sokoto Central Market.https://www.nairaland.com/7371611/pdp-crisis-wike-angry-because “In 2019, it was Wike who funded Aminu Tambuwal to contest against Atiku Abubakar. Without Wike’s support, Tambuwal would not have had a chance to contest. Wike funded his campaign then and fully committed himself to Tambuwal’s presidential ambition. Even after Tambuwal lost the primary, Wike was very unhappy about it.wike was the one carrying the party because of his 2023 ambition [dead on arrival but that is a story for another day]. Peter Obi has ambitions for 2027, which is why he is touring nigeria. but the only person with resources to secure nomination is atiku and atiku is not going to step down if he is dropping cash. i cannot see it happening |

izzou: ![]() ........GloriousG analysis gets k-leg cos it was Okowa that funded Atiku the most in the last Election. Though I agree with him Wike held the party, financed it well until 2023 but he did all these not because he genuinely love the party, rather for his own ambition. Northern Governors ain't gonna spend shishi on the party in the next presidential election, rather gonna focus mainly on local politics - cos Atiku is leaving the party to join El Rufai in SDP. I heard Peter Obi is on his way to SDP too. |

raumdeuter:TheFlint1 knows. You think he doesn't understand our point about backing up accusations with proof or punishments for injurious accusations without basis? He knows. It's a mob thing. It's just an irate mob wanting the head of a representation of the ruling elite on a spike, the law, evidence and factuality be damned. It's not really about Akpabio but the idea of what he represents. Replace Akpabio with Orji Uzor Kalu or Seyi and it'd be the same reaction. |

OasisX:Erm, Tinubu and the Akwa Ibom Governor are chummies. Akpabio has decimated opposition attempts for the Akwa Ibom Governor as he's also pals with Akpabio so in 2027, if everything remains the same, here's how it would go: - Governorship: All support for the PDP Governor. - Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District: PDP fields a weak candidate so Akpabio carries the day. - Presidential election: I don't see the Governor throwing his weight behind a PDP candidate. It'd a free-for-all. Obi, the PDP, and Tinubu would slug it out. I don't think PDP can bank on Akwa Ibom for the Presidential. And I don't think the State Governor is pumping as much money to PDP national body like Udom Emmanuel or Akpabio did. |
| Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by GloriousGbola: 10:37am On Mar 11, 2025 |
OasisX:Governors are also going to be more careful with deploying resources imho. The truth is that it was the center that was dashing money to run elections. Going as far as turning smaller parties to satellite parties. PDP has failed to adapt to living without money from the center. I actually predicted the party would split after the elections because I cannot see wealthy SS politivos funding their northern cohorts who will then back stab them in the primaries. Wike no be pesin but the way his friend tambuwal did him dirty will make anyone pause on financial support. |

Ballzproblem2:This is not about Democrat 🆚 Republican banter. The United States is not a lawless society. There's a legal court order from a Federal judge suspending Khalil deportation. This is not Nigeria, where law enforcement agents disobey court order. The Trump administration invoked an obscure legal statute over the weekend in an attempt to deport a recent Columbia University graduate — and lawful permanent resident of the United States — who helped lead campus protests against Israel last year, people with knowledge of the action said on Monday.https://www.nytimes.com/2025/03/10/us/trump-rubio-khalil-columbia-student-protests.html |

OkpaNsukkaisBae:Did u read this part? Trump is not wrong to try to expel the guy for supporting a terrorist group. It’s just funny how u suddenly fall in love with America having a working legal system where citizens and foreign nationals resident in the country can take up their case and challenge actions and inactions of government. It’s ironical that the same u who supports countries where citizens rights are suppressed is now happy the terrorist supporter can get judgement in a US federal court
