There was a project by her -Better Life for Rural Women- which was very popular during IBB regime. It was rumored that Asaba was made the capital of Delta State because of her. Maryam Babangida was the most famous and most flamboyant among the wives of former Nigeria past leaders. I think, Nigerians started using First Lady during IBB regime.
