Download Data Eye and say no to arbitrary usage of your data. The app lets you choose which apps can use data. So whatever app you restrict from using data will not be able to use data even if your data is switched on and you're using the app. I remember a particular time the app disconnected, my phone's background apps used 100inch diameter straw to suck my data for unnecessary update and the likes.

Background apps restriction is indeed what a lot of people have to initiate to conserve mobile data usage but many don't know this fact. Those mobile phone updates are insidious data drainers.

I experimented with this on 2 occasions, between GLO and MTN. 4 phones and 1 TV. TV YouTube/Netflix nonstop, phones 2 YouTube, 2 normal surfing. Total exhausted data on Glo 11GB, MTN 29GB.

If you don't mind the speed, Glo is the best at this hard times

I subscribe Glo 10gb for 2k week and it lasts me for a week.. Sometimes I don't even exhaust. This is impossible with MTN

I remember those days when we used to do 2500 naira 3gig subscription night plan on Mtn for a month around 2011-2013 period. This 3gig used to last for almost a month and it was only on YouTube that I used to browse with the data.
Something has gone terribly wrong that 20gig just gets exhausted while not doing much.

MTN is the most fraudulent. They will charge you even when you switch off the phone. Turn it on and you'll see messages of data usage.

You didn't present any evidence that your data is being stolen. The only way to get an evidence is to install a data usage monitor on your phone to monitor your data usage. And then download a certain file size and check whether the reading on the data monitor app matches with the file size you downloaded.

Yeah, they do but theirs is 40gb for 1month @ N7500. You are credited 1.33gb daily for 1month. It's been so far. Just dial *312# and go to data plans to check item 8 for everyday plan.
