So I joined this group on telegram and they talked about doing some tasks and getting paid.. Later on we were asked to pay a certain amount (12k) to earn around (18k) after completing the said task.. I saw others paying I want to know if its legit or ......

Those "people" you saw their proof of payment is actually the same person
Think of it like a generated WhatsApp chat

It's true that you can make money on the net but believe me it's not as easy as thst
Also be wary of telegram fraudsters are in their multitudes there

I think have encountered them before... Firstly I was asked to complete a task which I did.. I was asked to chat there customers care up and showed her my finished task and she will credit me which she did instantly... I was created 2k instantly... She now asked me to chat them up in few hours time for another task which I did and I was asked to pay 12 and collect 18k after the task..... I was even shown different alert of 12k which I was told some has already send there 12k and collected 18.

Immediately my sense adjusted himself to gear 1 and I knew this is scam.

I've had strange number chatting me up on WhatsApp for up to three times now with the same format. I will just jejely chop their own 2k clean mouth. When it comes to when I will make payment, I no go even talk to them again

They are scammers, I'm a victim, they make you invest then block you

I no just understand them at all.They sent me 1500 immediately after I completed one task and I was told there would be other task.
I later come online on telegram and saw people posting receipt of 63k they just received.This is what prompted me to do more research.

I'm currently in it right now. I was asked to pay 12k, then so some tasks and was credited with 18k. Now it's 20k to be credited with 26k.
