for 8years wike did what ever he wished many were not happy when he left they felt that should be the end but baba no gree, jus as tinubu have a strong hold of lagos if no for him obasa was a goner....ppl should know in a third world country like ours godfatherizm cannot be overemphasize, it is the bed rock of politics. maybe when we mature than this we will run polities in a better way
We will never leave this archaic backward system if it has a lot of support from the individuals in the country. Supporting a godfather to have unfettered access to people’s funds is not nobility, it is fraudulent and a display of cowardice.

I prefer someone who agrees to be subservient to a “godfather” but reneges on the agreement and decides to use the state money instead for the people because the money belongs to the people in the first place not the so-called Godfather. I prefer such a person to the one who accepts the deal from The Godfather and keeps the deal and begins to siphon the people’s monies to the so called Godfather cowardly.

It is only Gov. Fubara can say the details of the agreement, item for item.

At least Wike has been consistent on media what it is but we need to hear from Gov. Fubara if that is it and why does he not want to honor it anymore......

Gov. Fubara owes Rivers people that much to say himself and not this hearsay we hear from his supporters. They were never there when the agreement was signed and sealed.
If Sim had an agreement with Wike and you are insisting that he keeps to it, why not insist that Wike should desist from illegally trying to own/control the state resources? In other words, if you say that Sim should act in integrity towards Wike and yet you are not insisting that Wike should act with integrity towards the state then you are simply double-faced.

It’s just like Mr A and Mr B decide to rob a house and share the money according to an agreed percentage. Mr B betrayed Mr A and refused to give him the loot but decided to wire the money back to the victim of the robbery. I wouldn’t say Mr B has done bad.

If anybody is insisting that Mr B should co-operate with the terms of the contract with Mr A, that person is morally bankrupt and weak in terms of character.

THE ACTUAL GAME PLAN OF AMAEWHULE & CO AND GOV FUBARA STRATEGIC APPROACH

By Ugochukwu Tonye Oputa

The Letter of Notice of Allegations of Gross Misconduct that made it online today is a move that became necessary at this time given that the Governor had failed to act within their estimated expectations.

Recall that before the Supreme Court Judgment, all actions of the Governor were duly backed up by court orders. The Governor relied on instructions of the court to work with the Oko Jumbo Led Assembly and that order remained valid until it was set aside by a higher court.

Every litigation process has an end and the Supreme Court being the Apex court gave a ruling and asked that the Governor represent the 2025 budget and recognize the Amaewhule-led Assembly as the legitimate house of Assembly.

What the Wike camp didn’t expect was the Governor’s tact in swiftly obliging to all orders of the Supreme Court.

They began with the 48 hours ultimatum and expected the Governor to ignore however, the Governor and his strategic team wrote a letter to the State House of Assembly notifying them that they were yet to receive the said letter that had the ultimatum, but rather saw soft copies of it online and that however, the Governor was awaiting the Certified True Copy of the Judgment so he can implement swiftly.

All they were looking for was a justified ground to base their actions for impeachment.

They had hoped that a more tangible misconduct would be that of the Governor failing to obey the Supreme Court judgment and representing the budget or blatantly ignoring their letter.

The Governor even personally showed up at the Assembly Quarters to present the Budget but was locked out.

The Governor then wrote again to the Assembly communicating his willingness to present the budget at a given time or any time convenient for them in March.

From asking LGA Chairmen to step down to Showing up to present the budget, the Governor’s early moves disrupted their calculations.

One can categorically state that the Governor hasn’t gone contrary to the Law after the Supreme Court Judgement.

It is also worthy of noting that previous actions of the governor were carried out by orders of the court be it right or wrong. Where there was a contrary judgment, the case was pursued up to the Supreme Court, and upon a ruling, the Governor has now formally submitted to the new order setting aside the old one he worked with.

So you’d ask if they know this, why are they going ahead with this notice?

The answer is simple, to induce chaos!

It’s just like missing your target that you're supposed to shoot and shoot upwards so the loud noise can rattle him wherever he is.

The second reason is to add more aces for them to negotiate with on the negotiation board.

As for impeachment, while it is within their constitutional right to attempt it, they know the political blunder of attempting a move when you barely hold the aces.

Everything in warfare is strategy and the Governor is getting it right!

Oh!, Rivers State,

When will you be free from troubles festering unended?

Companies are leaving you, Rivers State, oh our Rivers State, and they are moving to other states.

You should be a State with high impact and activities but there is drowning and migrating of companies to preferred states.

There is always a fight - the State is continuously backward, so sad.

Please all should sheet the sword and allow our state to progress. Let us make progress. Let us sleep with our eyes closed and wake happy.

Let Rivers State show it is the goose that lays the golden egg.

Our Oil should not be our greatest undoing

PLEASE ! PLEASE !! PLEASE !!!

the CJ have dismissed the case since last week. Besides it’s the NJC that investigates any judge that have cases and not the National Assembly or State assembly. Rivers State house of Assembly never petition Rivers State chief judge.
The HoA may rely on step 3 b of 8 of Chapter 6, Part 2A of section 188 to not allow the CJ constitute the investigative panel.

"Within 14 days of presenting the notice to the speaker; regardless of whether the governor responds to the allegation — the house of assembly shall, by motion and without debate, decide whether the allegation should be investigated."

Yes I insist that it is morally bankrupt to ignore the intention of someone who is not the governor to have control over STATE resources. I repeat the resources belong to the state not a man so if you cannot see that fundamental point, where is your moral standing?

And yes I repeat that if the so called AGS entered into the deal with the ultimate goal of ensuring that turning state affairs to a business deal ends, so long as he doesn’t himself join the foolish bandwagon, then he is a noble man.

You can quote me on that, I am still here….

🛑 Opinion By Obakpee Isaac Osaheni .

How Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara Outsmarted Nyesom Ezenwo Wike - CON, GSSRS and his 27 Lawmakers by simply Obeying the Supreme court Judgement that was indeed in favour of Wike and his lawmakers;- A Master stroke. | Awake Now Tv

But The Yorubas supporting Wike's "state-capture" moves are too daft to know this.

Now, Walk with me!

So on what ground do they now impeach a Governor who have adhered to the rulings of the supreme court and the law? On the ground that the Governor refuses to allow wike to control the Resources of Rivers state & there IGR, like Tinubu did in Lagos for decades or what??

Wike Instructing his 27 lawmakers to Lock Fubara out of the Rivers state House of Assembly Complex in order to prevent Fubara from presenting the Budget to them as instructed by the supreme court is Not only another own goal to the Wike-led faction but it also signifies the obstruction of the implimentation of justice ordered by the supreme court. That itself is a treasonable offence.

Lawmakers loyal to Nyesom Wike believed they had Governor Siminalayi Fubara trapped. Their strategy was straightforward: push him to his limits, provoke an emotional response, and create a scenario that would justify either his impeachment or declaring a state of emergency in Rivers State. However, Fubara managed to outsmart them.

Rather than resisting or reacting impulsively, he opted for a different strategy. He accepted the Supreme Court's ruling without any objections and even agreed to re-present the budget to the House led by Amaewhule. This calculated move took his opponents by surprise.

In a twist of irony, the same lawmakers who had previously imposed a strict 48-hour ultimatum on him for presenting the budget are now sidestepping it.

They anticipated he would refuse, but his compliance left them without a plan.

With no options left, they chose to go on recess without a scheduled return date, thereby revealing their own vulnerability and entrapment.

When some people accused Fubara of weakness, they misjudged him. Although the Supreme Court's decision appeared to favor Wike’s faction, however Fubara ingeniously turned it into a strength. By publicly agreeing with their demand for compliance, he exposed their insincerity.

Now they are reluctant for him to present the budget, contradicting their previous position.

Unlike a typical Nigerian governor who might respond with aggression, Fubara has taken a different route. As the Chief Security Officer of Rivers State, he recognizes that his foremost responsibility is to uphold peace and safeguard lives. By not escalating tensions, he has garnered public support and deftly navigated the political traps set for him.

Ultimately, Fubara has emerged as a leader who anticipates multiple moves ahead. His composed and strategic demeanor not only keeps Rivers State secure but is also gradually undermining the power struggle against him.

Depends on who is deceived. I’ll give you a scenario. If a kidnapper has abducted a child and the ransom is N10m and I happen to reach an agreement with the kidnapper but end up deceiving him such that I get the abducted child and I don’t keep to my agreement to pay the N10m, I haven’t done an ignoble thing because a fraudulent agreement is not valid abinitio.

In the same vein, agreeing to do the bidding of someone who wants to control state resources for himself and reneging on that agreement to serve the people instead is not a bad move because it might be near impossible to wrest control of state resources for the people any other way.

So long as the individual actually uses those resources for the people and so long as he himself doesn’t become a controller of state resources at the end of his tenure. Before we shout “agreement is agreement,” let’s first ask what kind of agreement, is it an invalid one?

Your scenario cannot play in such instance.
Just like the issue of affidavit you all think snd believe will stand in Court against the 27 lawmakers.....

Find a suitable scenario, please and thanks.

Not me…I never mentioned anything about the affidavit issue or the 27 lawmakers. If you can see any of my posts on these matters, you can pull it out. What I’m saying is simple: an illegal agreement whether it is to abduct a kid or to rob a bank or to steal money or to control state resources after your term, is an illegal agreement and should not be upheld.

If the party who supposed to co-operate then reneges from the so-called agreement, and he himself takes the proceeds of the agreement to himself alone whether it’s the state resources or the loot of the bank robbery, then he has added illegality on top of illegality. But where this person decides to renege on the so-called agreement so that he can do the right thing, then he has acted properly.

If only Nigerians would see the state resources like they see their personal businesses, people won’t be urging non-state actors to take ownership of the state resources.

Just imagine you have a business and your employees steal from you everyday. If employee 1 and employee 2 have agreed that they will steal your sweat and share the money, but employee 2 eventually deceives employee 1 and report to you (the business owner) and all the money is recovered.

In this case will you claim that employee 2 did the wrong thing just because he broke his agreement with employee 1?

You cannot establish legality on an illegality.

It is a crime when they act on the illegality but for example when one party reports the plan to the appropriate authority, you cannot charge that party for the crime.

Even undercover agents sometimes act like who they are not in order to gain access to needed information to nab wrongdoers. If the motive is good, there is no problem in acting like something you are not in order to gain access that would otherwise be impossible.
