Is Tinubu Actually A "Terrible President" ? (Photos) by Quarterpast(op):
Terrible is commonly used to mean extremely bad—awful, dreadful, or severe.
If someone is Described as terrible, it means He/she is exceptionally and extremely Bad.

A youth corps Memeber described our Dear President as a very terrible president who is terrible at what he does. She lamented about the skyrocketing prices of goods and services under the leadership of president Tinubu. She said Nigerians are suffering, living in pain and penury while the president looks on.

Let's factcheck her Claim; Is she right?
Is Tinubu Actually a very Terrible President?
What are the Indices of a failed and Terrible President?

Re: Is Tinubu Actually A "Terrible President" ? (Photos) by IgOga(m):
It depends on how you measure it.

For some Nigerians anyone who gives them a bag of rice at Christmas and a ram at Eid is a good leader....hence why most politicians do targeted charity to be in the good books of those Nigerians

Some measure performance by how much food they have in their belly.....if they become hungry the leader is bad

Some measure performance based on their own expectation...not necessarily what the leader promised in their manifesto...the messiah complex politicians appeal to them...only to be disappointed when reality hits

In Buhari's time Nigerians were better off or so it seems but that is because Buhari was borrowing money from anyone who is willing to offer it. Nigeria was practically eating its future.....China had to stop borrowing us as it was becoming clear that we would not be able to pay back at the rate we were going...naira was artificially inflated the FG was supporting the exchange rate at over $2 billion per month, fuel subsidy was taking another chunk of money that we did not have.....when Buhari saw that it was unsustainable he presented the 2023 budget where fuel subsidy was meant to end in June 2023.

Tinubu came in and embarked on economic reform from day one...announcing that the fuel subsidy is gone and will not come back in form of budget padding...naira was floated to show its true value....Nigeria started saving money by cutting waste...Dangote refinery brings competition to NNPC PLC. Remember Goodluck Jonathan approved 5 private refineries as president none of which was built because of NNPC monopoly...that story may change with Dangote refinery coming online...NNPC has no choice than to refurbish its own refineries that has been dead for decades....

Having said this the benefits of Tinubu's reforms are yet to be fully realised...infact the pain of the reforms is all but clear to see....in the long run the benefits will come but at the moment it is painful...

Labour unions that should advocate for salaries to match the pains seem to be nothing but politicians....this reform isn't well communicated and salaries and wages are lagging behind...

So it depends on how you see it

Tinubu is not a terrible president at all.

This is just youth corps member expressing her own opinion and feeling.

The fact that she even used "very terrible" shows that she is just lamenting.

It depends on the quality of life of the citizens. A president is there to serve the people
True...but how do you explain borrowing money to subsidise standard of living...to the point where China stopped borrowing us...they even seized a presidential jet cos we could not meet up with our interest payment...if any company runs like Nigeria was going it will declare bankruptcy .....the current pain will be nothing compared to what that would bring.

Tinubu is not a terrible president.

The president is doing his best to fix the mess he inherited from the past administration.

The essence of government, especially in a democracy, can be summarised into 3 broad categories:

1. Ensure basic constitutional feeedoms of the citizens are upheld (those are the real dividends of democracy) such as speech, association, right to chose a leader etc.

2. Ensure the majority of the citizens have a good quality of life. Reasonable purchasing power, access to good health, infrastructure, education etc

3. Ensure reasonable security of lives and properties of the citizens. Security from internal and external threats, ensure justice is upheld etc.

So the question would be, how has bat performed in these three areas?

All these people making noise here and defending Tinubu is because Tinubu is from their region, they would have been cursing him if he is not from their region.

Every normal human being in the world knows that Tinubu is a criminal and a terrible person.

What are we talking about here?

I have read much about having patience with Tinubu over the reforms with some saying it has started yielding positive results. Even some government agencies and agents brings on data to show these gains. The data, is very commandeering. They are entici6and encouraging. They elicit some smiles from the faces of Nigerians.

But sadly, they failed to reflect on the happenings on in the society. The realities on ground opposed these figures in no small measures. So it does appears that the stats are cooked and never born out of a genuine economic interplays.

For instance, the economy of Nigeria is shrouded in secrecy. No one is ready to tell the truth or show forth data as pertaining to government, it's agencies and businesses. A case in point is the oil sector. Till tomorrow, nobody knows the actual production output, nor the export quantity, production cost, etc. hence, we do not know if the government is paying subsidy, or to how much it's paying, no knows what quantity of, say PMS is being sonsumed in the nation per day so as to know what the government is paying.

Till now, no one can tell the salary structure of the Presidency, NASS and other elected officials in the country. If you dare, you're in for the unknown. But these are public officers.

So much but no time to say it all
Re: Is Tinubu Actually A "Terrible President" ? (Photos) by being(m): 11:29am On Mar 18, 2025
Starting from the frist principle, what happened that buhari had to be borrowing money? U preside over a gross reduction in fx revenue allowing oil production to drop from 2.1mbd to 1mbpd .. what is then d actual solution ? -is it not to increase oil production and other fx revenues by all means?

Imagine your eldest brother mismanaging the family business to the point of zero revenue and then he starts to borrow money to sustain the family and then after a while the next eldest brother takes over and he stops all borrowing but still doesnt bring up the business to revenue generation and then u start praising him for ending borrowing. . Does that make sense?
