lexy2014:Yes... Anyone who really lived in Nigeria and experience the Naija part of Nigeria will always miss Nigeria, especially Lagos. That doesn't mean we should relocate back to Nigeria, especially when one is doing really well outside the country. Anything I miss in 11 months, detti December is there for me to ball!! |

My friend got to the UK about a year ago. She is missing home so bad already. Out there is just good to save and return home later. God help our reasonable people out there to prosper fast o |

He's finally not writing about women. And really, he has nothing else to write about. His article was so boring from point 1 that I had to scroll to know if it was him. I was not disappointed. Journalist indeed. |

The weather is a major aspect. Winter is a terrible experience for a Black person who was born and bred in the tropics. And yes, Nigerian women. Nothing beats the big yansh, well marinated pus.sy and breasts of Nigerian women. |

I won't miss anything once I leave, maybe the food but Nigerians and their food are everywhere abroad. I definitely will not miss girls who think dating is a source of income. |

Reggzy: During and after WWII, Europeans migrated to the Americas, Australia, Canada and even to Africa including Nigeria. They worked and made money. European politicians who did not migrate improved social infrastructures like electricity, pipe borne water, roads and railways, etc in Europe. On seeing the improvements at home, those Europeans who migrated returned to Europe with money they made abroad and invested in small scale industries that gave rise to the giant industries in Europe after WWII. But in Nigeria 🇳🇬, social infrastructures are hardly improved on, or are left stagnant by Nigeria's politicians. Worse, a section of Nigeria uses herdsmen to roam with cattle and assault rifles all over Nigeria. Many informed people from that section of Nigeria pretend they don't know that beef and dairy are no more profitably produced through herdsmen roaming the bushes with cattle. Religious conquest of whole Nigeria is their principal guardian. The militarily skewed political structure of Nigeria consigned huge political powers to the section of Nigeria whose armed herdsmen roam with cattle all over Nigeria. Thus, restructuring Nigeria politically to true and fiscal federalism is no more an easy task, because of abundance of crude oil and natural gas deposits in the delta region of Nigeria. Result: more of Jappa phenomenon in Nigeria, instead of those who left Nigeria earlier returning home to Nigeria. |

10 things you’ll always miss about Nigeria when abroad. 1. Nigerian Food No matter how many African restaurants you find abroad, nothing beats the authentic taste of home-cooked Nigerian food. From jollof rice, pounded yam with egusi soup, suya, and pepper soup—there’s just something about the flavors back home that can’t be replicated. 2. The Nigerian Vibes & Energy Nigerians are known for their vibrant, lively, and fun-loving nature. Whether it’s the street parties, the music blasting from speakers, or just the random jokes and laughter in everyday conversations, the unique Naija energy is something you’ll always crave. 3. The Music & Dance Afrobeats has gone global, but nothing compares to hearing Naija hits blasting from speakers in Lagos traffic or at a packed club. Dancing to Davido, Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Olamide at home just hits differently. 4. Nigerian Street Food Abroad, you might get burgers and pizza, but where’s the roasted boli and groundnut, suya, puff-puff, and akara by the roadside? The street food culture in Nigeria is unmatched, and nothing can replace that experience. 5. The Hustle Spirit & Market Bargaining Whether you’re at Balogun Market or Wuse Market, haggling over prices is part of daily life. Abroad, you’ll miss the thrill of negotiating deals and the energy of Nigerian markets, where everyone is a businessperson at heart. 6. Friendly & Loud Greetings Nigerians love greeting loudly and with enthusiasm—whether it’s “How far?” “Wetin dey happen?” or “My guy!” Abroad, people might be too formal or reserved, and you’ll miss that instant, warm connection. 7. The Unmatched Sense of Humor Nobody does humor like Nigerians. The ability to find laughter even in tough situations, the funny proverbs, slangs, and sarcasm—life is never dull in Naija, and you’ll definitely miss the constant entertainment. 8. The Nigerian Community & Togetherness In Nigeria, neighbors become family, and there’s always someone looking out for you. Whether it’s your church members, friends, or even random strangers, the strong sense of community and support is irreplaceable. 9. The Weather Winter coats, snow, and extreme cold? No thanks! You’ll miss Nigeria’s warm tropical climate—even the heat and harmattan will suddenly feel nostalgic when you’re dealing with freezing temperatures abroad. 10. The Late-Night Lifestyle In Nigeria, the city never sleeps. Whether it’s nightlife, late-night food spots, or just people hanging out, there’s always something happening. Unlike many places abroad where everything closes early, Naija’s 24/7 life is something you’ll always miss. No matter how far you go, Nigeria stays in your heart. Which of these do you miss the most? lexy2014:I didn't think those would be difficult to differentiate. Missing the insults when driving on the road is different from sitting in traffic, or spending money on fuel and waiting at the bus stop; or paying huge taxes, or watching the reckless attitude or agberos. Read again and you'll see the difference. |

Reggzy:Count me out. I rather keep visiting other ethnic nationalities to tap into their rich cultural heritage than visit home now, not even now insecurity has ravaged everywhere. I only miss people who deface cities everyday through garbage dumping and roadside shotputs & urination. I miss lawlessness. My house remains the headquarters of FooD. Women can be seen left right and center. In fact, I meet an average of 50 women of different ethnic nationalities across the world every day & share in their heritage. For Church, I was never a church goer in Naija hence, inconsequential. |
