From the speech of PBAT the governor did not make any speech when news came forth that there was a pipeline explosion, the first and later the second.
If the governor is pursuing peace as he claims, it will show in his body language and his statements. Unfortunately, he will only appeal to those who he can play on their emotions and gather their sentiments.

Wike was nobody. He was picked by people, supported by people and became the monster.

All your so called high profile men started somewhere and people helped to project them. When you take sides, ensure that you submission is balanced.

Wike formed the same mumu until he got in there. He then barred his fangs at some of those who helped him secure the seat.

We should grow beyond the level of being deceived by politicians. In these months of the crisis, the citizens were losing. We must begin to hold our leaders accountable for their actions and inactions.

Amaewhule and his group were inaugurated in June 2023. By September, three months later, they had started their foolish move of impeaching the governor. That was the genesis. The fact remains that Fubara and Wike disagreed on the basis of settlement. But the attempt by the house to impeach the governor, barely three months into office, was a wrong move. Rivers must not be Wike’s private business. He cannot claim to lord it over other solid politicians in Rivets state. There are other very strong power brokers in the state.

Take a look at Amaewhule and his group. Since about that period, their allowances were blocked. They have not enjoyed their seats for more than three months since 2023. I thought that they should have found common grounds with Fubara after the Supreme Court judgement, but they blocked it. How it happened has become history, as we see. They have not enjoyed their allowances, neither have they enjoyed peace. Most of them will not serve the second term. Wike stated that he wants to win Rivers state for a Tinubu. Do not expect PDP to watch themselves lose their state. Do not expect LP to just sit on the fence.

Even though it is not there in the constitution for the President to suspend a sitting governor, taking advantage of the section of the constitution to declare the state of emergency helped the state. While some of you thought that Fubara would suffer it, you did not realize that the entire house would suffer. Now there can be some chance for the contestants to sort themselves out or they will be locked out for a further six months.

In all, the major losers are the legislators whose seats are still disputed in the court, and then the citizens. Fubara’s seat is safe and protected. He will return to the same seat in September to continue his job, except the same legislators want to make another attempt to impeach him.

Lastly, I do not agree with BAT’s remarks. We must not forget that the moment they concluded their peace meeting with him, Fubara withdrew his case from court and reinstated the commissioners. They resigned one by one, livingFubara to employ new hands.

Our prayer is for peace to return to Rivers state and also that those who have started blowing up pipelines should stop. Our oil production recently improved and blowing up pipelines will affect our economy.
