Who can remember then NFF president Ibrahim galadima saying going to the World Cup is not our birthright back in 2005 hahaha. But since 1994 it’s been our birthright to represent Africa at the World Cup. Up super eagles up Nigeria

If we beat Rwanda on Friday... It will be the very first time we ever beat them in their home, like ever

Imagine making history on your first game bas a coach
This should be enough motivation already

Sadiq was rightly nicknamed zololo in hausa after a camel because of his long neck and lean body frame.
Knew the dude in KD then..
I wish him all the best but I don't fancy his game

😂😂😂

Funny lots.
The Coach better not lose the game because supporters can't even wait to push the quota system narrative but then again why would an experienced battle tested midfielder like Onyeka be laid off for a home based player in a world cup qualification tournament given the very stakes.NFF are really the problem

You see that Sadiq? Ko decent ra ra.
Sadiq is not playing in Laliga by luck, it was his talent

This downgrade is becoming too much sir

In my own opinion he doesn't deserve to be invited and has not played well for Nigeria, I will not defend that

We do in the person of Onyeka but his on the ball qualities are just not impressive for a defensive midfielder.I think that is where Alhassan should come in
Onyeka and Alhassan don't have the defensive discipline of prime Ndidi and Alhassan is just a carpenter in midfield, I don't rate him one bit

Raphael Onyedika Get Pivotal Role In New Super Eagles Midfield Ahead Of World Cup Qualifiers

Club Brugge midfielder Raphael Onyedika has been handed a key role for the Super Eagles when they take on Rwanda on Friday in the 2026 world cup qualifiers, OwnGoalNigeria.com can exclusively reveal.
New coach of the Nigerian team Eric Chelle will be in charge of the team for the first time in Friday’s game, and has already mapped out how the team will play as they go in search of their first win after four games in the qualifiers.

Part of the idea of the new man is to have the team play a possession based football with high pressing from two midfielders higher up the pitch , while a lone defensive midfielder sits and dictate play from deep. That role is said to be for Onyedika.

Chelle watched him interpret the role to perfection playing in the UEFA Champions League for Club Brugge, and he has decided to hand him the same responsibility against Rwanda.

It looks like the duo of Alex Iwobi and Wilfred Ndidi will be the left sided and right sided midfielders respectively, playing very close to the wingers in Moses Simon and Ademola Lookman. They are expected to create an overload with top striker Osimhen in the box when the team attacks.

In defence, a back four of Ola Aina, Bruno Onyemaechi, William Troost-Ekong and Calvin Bassey will sit just in front of Stanley Nwabali who is expected to keep his spot as first choice goalkeeper.

How comfortable is Onyedika as a lone DM

This could be a dangerous move playing a onyedika as a lone defensive midfielder considering the fact that our defense is still shaky in the absence of Ajayi.I pray we don't concede early goals

that the way too go

Imagine that we managed to Atleast get 2 wins out of our first 3 days Atleast the pressure would hv been less

It still baffles me how we couldn’t get a win against any of Rwandan,Zimbabwe, Lesotho,Benin and SA during the first stanza of the qualifiers. Peseiro messed up big time
